TXSnowman's Journal, 22 July 2014

Hit a new weight low today at 182.4 lbs. Another bonus was I have finally gotten to the point where all of my 34" waist shorts and slacks fit comfortably. I've been in that limbo for some time now where 34's were a bit tight, but the 36's were a little loose. Now the 34's are just right. So that means that as of today...(insert happy dance here)... I've officially lost 20" off my waist and 152.4 lbs of weight.

I started Yoga last Saturday. These are balance and flexibility yoga classes which are nice, but I think that after this series of six classes is over, I'm going to move up to the Vinyasa (flow) yoga classes to get more of a workout.

I also completed all of the classroom work, home study, quizzes and final exams for my open water SCUBA certification as well as for the Certification to dive using Safe-Air (Nitrox). I finished all of training in the pool. So now all I have left to do is two days of diving in the lake and I will have both certifications. I'll be doing those training sessions next Monday and Tuesday.

Thursday will be our 33rd wedding anniversary. So my wife and I are taking our travel trailer to Corpus Christi from Wednesday through Sunday. We reserved a spot right on the water with some great views. I'll be running the dogs on the beach as much as possible, and getting some swimming in. Since we're taking the trailer, food shouldn't be an issue. I'll be able to prepare the same foods on the vacation that I usually prepare at home. I don't believe that I'll have internet access where we'll be staying, so I may not be able to post to FS, but I should be able to enter my food and exercise through the ap on my iPhone.

Well, that's all the news from "The Middle of Nowhere, Texas" where all the women are strong, all the men are good-looking, and all the children are above average. I hope y'all have a wonderful rest of the week and I truly wish you all the best on your road to a healthier future.

You bet, Bill! Since you are in so similar a place, I know that you know how great life feels once you get the weight down and improve your physical condition. There's just no way to communicate it to anyone not quite there yet. Its as addictive as any drug. Once you get this feeling, you just don't want to lose it. It truly is getting high on life (as trite and cliché as that sounds). I'm so glad that you have found your balance in life and are achieving all of your goals. Thanks again for your thoughts, kind words and all of your wonderful support.

Wow, 20 inches off your waist, that's fantastic. I'm hoping to make it to a 34 waist. Have fun on your anniversary trip.
