*-So I've been thinking about something. I've been hearing about this HIIT thing. Never really knew what it was or what it was about until someone posted an explanation on FB. If you do HIIT, what do you do?

Hmm, high intensity interval training, right? I don't officially do any HIIT training, that I'm aware of lol. I do sometimes sprint while I'm out for a walk, I suppose that could be classified as HIIT.

60/120's. Fast running/sprinting for 60 seconds, walking or slow jog for 120 seconds.

Sorry, if you do that method start of with 30/60's then move up to 60/120's.

Thanks. I haven't started it yet but I will definitely look into it with more details.

If you google it you will find many different forms....basically you do a slow interval then a high interval and keep going back and forth for as many times as you want.

Here's a great article about how to start HIIT from the American Council on Exercise. http://www.acefitness.org/fitness-fact-article/3317/high-intensity-interval-training/ Basically, interval training is more effective at calorie burning than consistent cardio, according to several famous scientific studies; mostly because it encourages your body to keep burning calories after your exercise is done. Related to this is Tabata training, which often involves doing an intense exercise for 20 seconds, then resting for 10 seconds, then repeating, for a total of four minutes. Here's a Mark's Daily Apple article about it to explain further: http://www.marksdailyapple.com/what-are-tabata-sprints/#axzz2zkTYIYGD Some people like to add on Tabata sprints after weight-lifting workouts to help add calorie-burning into their strength-training. It's only four minutes and does so much good stuff!
