Ok, so this weekend I am meeting up with my mom, my aunts and cousins and I just know that there will be a big bowl of "pan dulce" (sweet bread) on the table, and my aunt is going to cook some of her delicious but not so healthy Honduran dishes. I started with this diet on Monday, and have not eaten any bread or "unhealthy foods".... how should I approach this weekend? I want to enjoy family time without being worried about FOOOOOODDDD

I love that bread, I grew up in south america to I really know what that is gonna feel like. Is your family aware you are really trying to stay away from those tempting foods? If so perhaps you could simply ask them or her to not leave it out this time as a favor, explain that you absolutly love her breads and cooking, and that is the reason why you can't eat it. That way she isnt offended thinking you don't like her cooking, Also I know it might not be the best idea, but try and drink a full bottle of water right when you get there to keep your tummy full...maybe? Im not a food expert or anything, but maybe if you feel full you'll eat less? Good luck!!

On family gatherings, dinners and lunches i don't eat the fatty food they made then just what's on my diet plan - there are always some chicken and veggies around. They will call you crazy and pitty you for it LOL but in the end you will be slim and they will still be the same weight or higher (most of the women in my family are overweight)

Thanks,,, I like your idea about drinking all that water,,, my brain will say "hey eat that one, the one with all that sugar on the top" but my tummy will say "naaah I'm full right now, maybe next year" hahahaha Gotta stay strong!

I have made a commitment to make the diet top priority, which means I will adapt everything else as needed to stay on track.
This means that when I reward myself for reaching goals by eating at a favorite restaurant, I order things that I can fit on the diet and eat only what I need, aggressively doggie-bagging my meal. So I still get to eat out, and it doesn't set me back.

Sensitive belly issue?
Try psyllium whole husks. You can get it at Vitamin Shoppe and probably most drug stores. Has 5 carbs but also 5 dietary fiber and mixes with 8 ounces water. It is dry so it keeps well. 12 oz only ...

* on My Diet Calendar
jwill77nc2 is correct. Also, if there is NO asterisk (*) after the food or exercise then that number will not be counted in the Challenges and Contests and Mini Challenges this program offers.
