make a HUGE bowl of soup. Now a chunky kind, but something with a lot of broth, vegetables and maybe a little protein (seafood, or break an egg in it). It usually works for me as a comfort food - really fills me up with not that many calories. One thing to watch for - sodium, I prefer to make my own broth, rather than getting the high-sodium store boxes.

I drink mint tea without sugar or honey. You feel full after 2 cups,it has 0 calories and the tea relaxes you if you're on edge because of your period.

i drink like 2000ml every day, and that's only water. and have soup, broth... every meals, with other foods as well. but still, it like all the water i drink in goes away somewhere else, i still feel hungry after drinking "a ton of water". thank god that it only happens on the first day of my period

if you are craving sweet maybe something like grapes or strawberries., or a fruit smoothie made with buttermilk aome fruit, ice and no sugar or a substitute. not many calories but WOW it kills the craving for ice cream or something decantly rich--If it's chocolate actually some unsweetened cocoa powder a sugar sub and some strawberries, cherries, rasberries, or melon makes a low cal smoothie if you use buttermilk. I have a food budget so to keep it in line I buy butttermilk for $2.79 per 1/2 gal. You could use plain yogurt instead but in my area is or $$$ and several grocery stores ( not all ) carry the 1/2 gal of butterilk. Since I live alone the expiration date on butterilk doesn't always mean alot it can still be good several weeks after the last sale date just like yogurt.

i don't know why i want to eat, i don't feel like eating, i say to myself that i'm not hungry, which is true, but some how i still eat a bun of stuff for no reason. and i don't even like to eat sweet stuff that much. i normally prefer unsweetened milk to sweetend milk, dark chocolate (like 70% cocoa) to milk chocolate. but when my period comes, so does my crave for food. it sounds crazy, right?

Maybe you just need to go out and do other things? I find that when I'm busy I automatically eat less because I am not thinking about food until my sugars yell at me.
Is it an all day thing or just night? Are there triggers besides it just being menstruation time? You need to figure the why first in order to solve the problem.

Load your fridge with healthy foods and by that it should be filled with lots of vegetables and fruits. I think its okay to overeat healthy foods than eat junks. Remember, you have to burn more calories than you eat.

I recently saw a recipe where you mix Fat Free Cool Whip, Skim milk and one oreo together for a mini yummy shake/snack. I've not tried it but it sounds great. I think (if you're like me) you would need to buy the little bitty pack of oreos rather than the big package. I'd have more oreo than Fat Free stuff if I did that :/
