OK, So my blender has about bit the dust... My family loves smoothies but I make then pretty thick using frozen fruit, yogurt and water (add protein powder to mine). Since I have a food processor and a stick blender I was thinking about getting one of those mini ones like the bullet. I may have to make more smoothies in a row but it will take up a lot less space (and I have VERY little storage in my kitchen). Anyone have any thoughts? Is there even a good one on the market? Wanting to spend about 50.00 if it's going to last a year with daily use. If I have to buy a bigger one I will but I really hope not. Would use it daily for myself but not always with frozen things. Probably a couple times a week for the entire family.
Also I did look at the nutribullet and would spend the money but there doesn't seem to be alot of good on it with frozen over time.
Thinking the Ninja Kitchen System Pulse...Just not sure if it's going to hold up for 80.00
THANKS GUYS!!!!

I've had the magic bullet blender for about 2 years now, and the blade has just now become dull (which is my only complaint so far). I was using it almost daily for the first year and have just changed my diet a little so I don't use it as often not.
I love it! It is also great for grinding coffee and using as a food processor. Mine has some wear but is still going strong, so I would recomend it for sure.

I agree. Vitamix would be the way to go.

Sorry no vitamix. Don't have that kind of money... and I don't use it nearly enough to justify 500.00! I am looking for anyone that was happy with a certain MODEL for under 100.00.
Thanks again

I've been wanting to get something similar too. Might try the magic bullet, but I also found this on amazon for $70 that seems decent. Cuisinart CPB-300 SmartPower 15-Piece Compact Portable Blending/Chopping System. I want to be able to blend and then take it with me on my morning commute.
So I'm not really helping with your question lol but hoping you get some good suggestions!

I actually just found that cuisinart online at bed bath and beyond for $70 also... so with those 20% off coupons it'd be cheaper there. I may try it.

I have the personal blender from GNC - very similar to the magic bullet. The container you blend in turns into your to-go mug. It's great! I've had it for a year and have no problems. It's about $30-40 and even comes with two blender mugs!

BKeller... I was looking at the Ninja with the 3 cups and a pitcher at BBB that's the same price and using the same coupon lol! Yes you were helping since I hadn't seen that other one, gonna check it out too! My blender bottle broke and since that and my blender went caploohy at the same time I'm thinking get something like that and combine the costs. My only issue with the bullet is the cups seem small and the reviews have said that with daily use of frozen ingredients they burn out kinda fast.
makat... do you do frozen or fresher?
peppymint I definitely want the cups but am trying to have more than one since the whole family likes them lol.

Oh I just looked up that Cuisinart CPB-300 SmartPower. LOVE that it's lots of cups and I think the base is smaller but it's half the power of the ninja. Both are rated really well.... decissions. I need one to since I'm already annoyed having to get my stick blender out every morning lol.

Wow, this is a very useful thread!
I've been wanting to make more smoothies, and could use a smaller blender.
thynes, I agree, the Cuisinart CPB-300 SmartPower looks pretty good. $70 shipped, Amazon Prime.

Cerobit... better yet Bed Bath and Beyond. Sign up for emails and you'll get a 20% coupon good for a couple of weeks. 69.99 but brings it to 56.00! After that you'll get them every couple months or just opt out of the emails. I'm getting one or the other after work!

I bought the cooks brand from JCpenny.. it is 25 dollars.. It chops ice well and makes my protein shakes just fine.. I had a hard time with fruit smoothies because I used all frozen fruit and like them super thick. I do use it to grind up my flax seeds and it works really well. I also only paid 10 dollars for it because it was on sale, and I had a 10 dollar coupon.. so for 10 bucks IT IS AWESOME. That being said I would like to hear your results on frozen fruit smoothies when you make your purchase.

Ceebee - You got it. The frozen fruit thing is a must in my house for the kids especially. Frozen fruit, a little greek yogurt and some water and they think I'm the BEST! I'll put a tiny bit of protein powder in but only if they are lacking that day. It will be interesting if BKeller and I get opposite ones. I like the power of the ninja but the size of the cuisinart.

I've used a $20 Oster blender from Target almost daily for about a year, and it's going strong. I also have one at work to make my lunch shakes. It's a full-size blender, but lightweight and easy to clean. It has power and can handle the thick frozen fruit and yogurt combination well. Can't beat it for the price.
