I am going to try not to eat the kitchen sink when I get home tonight. My husband cooks most every night and I eat whatever he fixes. I guess I need to start cooking and trying to get this weight off before it kills me, literally. Hope everyone has a great day and maybe this will be my year to lose and feel soooo much better. God Bless!! Debbie Gaile

Weight loss is a slow process, but it is much easier if your spouse is on board with the plan. You could take over the cooking chore for some nights or for all nights -- it is easier to use the food trackers on this site if you prepare your own food because you know what's in it -- but maybe it's just as simple as talking to your husband and making a few requests for changes in the shopping list and in the meal preparation. You might have to prepare some things yourself if he's not willing to make some kinds of changes, but particularly as you are starting out, the more you can be on the same page with one another, the easier it will be. Good luck.

I agree with the above post but I do the cooking at our house. If I left it to my husband, it would be Kraft Dinner cooked with wieners all in the same pot [Double Yuck!!]. If I'm in the mood for a turkey burger, I grill that for me and I grill a beef burger for him. I don't know what type of dinners your husband makes at this point but there might be ways you can enjoy them in a healthy way. Start by measuring your portions so that you have an idea of what the calorie count is.

Taking control of your food and intake is absolute key. I agree with the other posters - and either make arrangements with hubby about the food, or start cooking. If you can't know what you eat, you can't control the calories.

I agree. Teamwork is a big factor in your success and will definitely make it easier to reach your goals. Cooking at home with fresh ingredients has made a world of a difference for me!
Stay the course, stay on point, stay motivated, dedicated, and you won't be stopped. Discipline. Perseverance. Focus. Dig deep and you will be victorious.

It's easier from what I am told to have a supportive spouse. So perhaps cooking together would be a good idea (if time allows).
If not sit down together and make out a meal plan that leads you both to a healthier eating style.
