I'm 14, I started this ages ago, but I simply couldn't stick to any diets and so gave up, but now I'm back and determined to lose some weight!
I am on the Paleo diet at the moment but to be honest Im not doing well at it at all. I believe I may be addicted to carbs and so am thinking of changing to the carbohydrate addicts diet. I also just got my braces on which makes it almost impossible to eat alot of foods without damaging my braces. Im looking for people that I can just talk to and have a laugh with, but also get some support from when needed and mabey a bit of but-kicking at times too!

there are no special benefits to come from the arbitrary restrictions that a Paleo Diet places on your food choice or any diet for that matters. you dont have to follow a certain diet.
just eat the foods you enjoy when you see fit in the portions that allow you to meet your calorie goal as well as provide adequate levels of micronutrients, satiety, pleasure and energy.

At 14 your body is still growing and you need certain nutrients to help it along, as I don't know what a Paleo diet is i would suggest that yuo cut out all junk food, eat healthily and find someone to exercise with to make it fun.

Marlboro man I agree with you in a way, so I am giving up the paleo diet. But I still believe that I am addicted to carbs (it can actually happen) I researched it online, and it seemed to describe me pretty well, therefore I am going to try the carbohydrate addicts diet. Kay2906, I think you'll also be happy to know that I've heard it's not acctually all that restricting food wise, wish me luck

Sophia, do you by any chance have the opportunity to work w/ a nutritionist with your dr.'s office or school? It would be really helpful for you to learn and be guided by someone regularly (and in person) to help you stay accountable.
14 is young. And kinda hard to do this all alone. But it is do-able. I highly recommend you consider combining the 'principals' of the carb addicts diet w/ just general healthy nutritional advice, and never go below 1400 calories a day!
Would rather see you begin to find areas of activity that interest you, than to see you cut your calories. That's a recipe for lifelong disaster with your metabolism!
Let us know how we can support you!!! Go Sophia!
Live, Love, Laugh ...make each day memorable and enjoy the journey.
The bar noted below, does not tell the entire story!

Check out the Clean Eating lifestyle. It is just eating healthy foods 5 to 6 times a day. You are young enough to start implementing some good habits that will set you up to be healthy the rest of your life. Would love to be your buddy Sophia.

I would not necessarily recommend 2000 calories. Use the calculator, to make sure. The RDI (recommend det daily intake) varies a LOT from person to person. If you feel that you want a faster weight loss ...
