If person A weighed 240lbs and was mostly fat with low muscle mass
And person B weighed 240lbs but was about 50/50 or having more muscle mass than person A
who who burn more calories?
If it is person B which I assume it is then when fat secret set up how many calories you need or how many calories you burn did they have person A or B in mind?
Anyone have any ideas

I doubt they had either - they are just using calculators to estimate. They do not consider % BF or % muscle - just height and weight averages. I honestly don't think there is any way to know for sure how much you burn unless you are hooked up to a device. (I have a body media fit and it tells me how many calories I burn - I started at 207 lbs and was burning more then. I am more muscular now, but still have a good bit of fat to lose at 132 lbs. and I am burning less calories but probably not more than 100 calories less per day than in the beginning)

If both people weigh the same the person with the most muscle will burn more calories, because muscle burns more calories even at rest, than fat does.

fat is only about 25% metabolically active as body organs and muscle. Dietitians use an adjusted body weight for obesity to adjust for this when calculating calories for people 15% or more over ideal body weight.

I read that the difference is not huge anyway, 10 kg of lbm make a difference of about 100kcal a day for the resting metabolism so the approximation is not too bad on average, the big difference would be down to the activity level since it is likely that the fattier person would be less active, but that can be accounted for even by FS
