I have a bottle of good red wine once a month or so. Life is too short to drink light beer, cheap wine, and rotgut booze. I just drink the good stuff as a special treat. If you need to drink daily it would be hard to loose unless you limited it to one ultra-light beer a day. Not worth it in my opinion.
Fat Old Guy On Bike. There is a trend here. I would be really self conscious about it if it weren't for the fact that there are so many of us Clydesdale's out there.

There's only 60-70 calories in an ounce of vodka.. so if you just limit yourself to 3-4 cocktails, you should be just fine! 990 calories = 14 cocktails.. I'd say that's quite excessive, but I'm not here to judge anyone's personal decisions..

I do agree with fogob that while trying to lose weight, excessive alcohol just isn't worth it - too many calories!

I wouldn't think you would be drinking a whole bottle of vodka.... You'd have your head down the toilet all night, if you did LOL. Vodka or gIn is definately your best option... Provided you only use low cal mixers with them .... I find I can't drink as much now that i am 'lighter', so I often alternate V & T then just a Tonic, then a V & T etc.... Wine is quite high, when you look at the alcohol content and compare.
The downside of drinking alcohol is it dehydrates you - and... Because it is a poison... Your body works hard trying to eliminate it - and doesn't process your food as efficiently, so therefore stores more as fat.

Ohh your whole day's calories were 990?? And 440 of those were alcohol? Goodness, girl.. your body needs more calories from good whole food!! That's a dangerously low amount of calories.. I know it's not what you were asking for advice on, but it worries me..

There is only about 20 calories per oz. of wine compared to 60-70 per ounce in Vodka.

Have you tried any of the skinnygirl drinks? I hate them but my friend loves them. They are low calorie but I think the taste leaves a lot to be desired....Go for a flavored vodka & seltzer...It's usually the mixers that add calories, not the alcohol.
