Hey guys! I'm here with a problem - few days ago I was working out and somehow I injured my foot during jumping jacks. I can walk and run without any pain but I can't do jumping jacks (and similar exercises) anymore. That's sad cause I really enjoyed doing them :[
Now I'm trying to keep my foot in rest and wearing a bandage when it's possible. But I still wanna do some exercise equivalent to jumping jacks, something fun and including jumping but without legs on sides. Any suggestions?

Have you seen if it hurts to jump with your feet together? You can mimic the action of jumping rope without actually using a rope. Use your arms at your sides like there is really one there. Jump with feet together, forward and back, and double jump. Save the side to side jumps until your foot is feeling better. If you have access to a jumprope and open space, by all means go for it! I'm just not quite coordinated enough

What about the Steam Engine move? It's kind of like standing Bicycle Crunches.
Here's a link on how to properly perform the move:

Start out not jumping to see if it agitates your foot. If you're good to go, speed up and add a jump.
Hope your foot feels better soon!

You can do a jumping jack in plank, so then you work not only legs but core. I don't know if that will hurt or not but you will be on your toes not the sides of your feet. You start in plank and keep your core tight, then you jump your feet out like a jumping jack. You can also add a push-up in, when you go down for the push-up jump your feet out. You can do a lot of things in plank, running, jumping the feet in and out, etc. Jumping jacks used to kill my ankles and calves, now I can do them like mad.

Wow, thanks, guys! I tried some of your suggestions and I liked them. Unfortunately I don't have a mini trampoline and a place to use it - it would definitely be fun!

Wow... needing to look into this. I've read and seen a lot of positive results and it can be altered for those of us "me" who have a lousy knee.
