Hi, I'm pretty new here. I found the site a few weeks ago and made an account but this is my first post. I'm planning on giving P90X a try this summer and I was wondering if anyone else wants to do it with me as a challenge so we can motivate each other. I'm planning to start on June 1 with an end date of August 30--The Summer of X...lol. I've already got everything I need to get started, now I just need some people to embark on this journey with. Just thought I'd throw this out there to see if there's any interest.

Not for me. I've never taken pills or commercial products to lose weight.

p90x is strength training and exercise plan i am also sure it has some nutritional advise as well but i've never heard of it having a diet pill to take with it. its concidered pretty intense from what i've heard. i personally would love to do it but i can't really afford the program. but i wish you the best of luck on your summer challenge! I am an 3 time insanity grad. I really love it! its my "go to" exercise when I need an intense workout. 45-55 min per video. I also love the cardio abs, 16 min after a yoga session is just enough. I know p90x is just as intense, you will love it if you love hard work and a challenge! Stick with it, you will see results! Maximum effort gives maximum results! Good luck!

Hey everyone! I am starting my 2nd attempt at P90X today. The first time, I made it to week 3 and was so sore I could barely function. Does anyone have any advice other than only do what I can throughout the program? I drank a protein shake which really helped a lot before as well. Week 1 - Day 1 today!! Doing the lean program! I have P90X, but I read through the first part of the book, and it scared the hell out of me! I'm afraid that I almost have to do a "pre" P90X in order to be able to even start it! I'm not hugely overweight, but not at all physically fit. I've been running/walking (intervals) for the past 3 weeks, but not sure I'm ready. Any comments from P90X Newbies?

I have done and want to start again! I also like the 10 minute trainer series. I know I will be sore, I wont do as many reps as they do, and I will keep going and do my best! I would love to start up again with you!!!

Lisa, if your not all that physically fit why don't you try something else thats not so intense to start with then go to the P90X
3 years ago I lost 30 pounds walking to Leslie Sansone's DVD's.
I like to walk outside when I can but living in Arizona, it is just to hot in the summer unless you get up and out at the crack of dawn...
anyway good luck to you what ever you do.

What's the 10 minute trainer series? I previewed the original p90x & thought it was way out of my league!

I've done p90X a few times through and I'd say that anyone can do it, but you do need to pace yourself. If you're not in awesome shape you won't be able to keep up with every exercise and it will take time for you to work up to what they're doing. After about a month you'll notice that it isn't as hard. Also, to see results and have the energy to do the workouts you have to eat right and if you have the recipe book with the program there are some good recipes in there. I say even if you can't keep up, at least you are doing something. It's not easy, but you can do it you just have to push yourself.

I had been on P90X for a couple of years up untill about 3 years ago. I was pretty disciplined and enjoyed amazing results. I did all the weight training sequences but when it came to cardio I would do tae bo. I'd been on a down ward spiral for the last 3 years but I'm making a come back with "Rockin' body" by Shaun T. I've been on it for nearly 4 weeks now and am loving the results. I'm working upto getting back on P90X but I was planning to do Rockin' Body for another month. Now that you've proposed this challenge I'm tempted to give it a go but I'm still thinking it might be better if I did at least another 2 weeks of "Rocking Body". Hmmmm -- What to do???

By the way Lisa, did you try stretching and drinking plenty of fluids before, during and after workouts? The program comes with a very good nutrition guide as well.
