That's a tough question to answer. Everyone's body is different and reacts differently to carbs, fats, sugars, etc. As a new person here, I suggest you search the site and find an eating plan you think you can stick with for the long haul. When you read the posts and replies, you can click on anyone's screen name and -- if they permit it -- you can view what diet they are on, see what they eat and how they exercise. That's assuming they record those things.

Do some reading and some studying then make a date to start a healthy eating plan that will let you lose one to three pounds a week. Stick with it for a few weeks and if you are progressing, then hooray! If you find yourself hungry all the time, then you need to choose a different diet type that will work for you.

Is your goal weight loss, or maintenance? Do you work out? How often do you work out and what type of exercise do you do? When your not working out how active are you? All these things are factors when determining energy requirements, but the general guidelines are: 50-70% of calories from carbohydrates (preferably complex carbohydrates only.), 10-30% of calories form fat (if your goal is weight loss or enhanced over-all health). Higher fat diets are not condusive to weight loss or mantenance. 15-30% of calories should be from protein. Contrary to popular belief, we do not need nearly as much protein as most of our peers think. A diet too high in protein will rob our bones of calcium. Hope this helps. Good luck!
