Help - Can't get enough calories!!

Wow, who'd have ever guessed that I of ALL people would have this problem?? This is really my FIRST time dieting. I say that lightly, as I've tried diets a zillion times before and always to no avail because my heart, mind, and definitely my tastebuds were just not in it.

But this time I have the mindset AND the want to lose weight. Over the last 5 days I've been learning EVERYTHING that I was never taught: how to eat healthier foods, what to look for nutritionally in foods, and what my body type actually needs to stay healthy and lose weight healthily.

Hence, my extreme issue: I CAN'T GET ENOUGH CALORIES!! I just do not have the heart to start eating crap foods again just to reach my daily calorie goal because for the first time in my life, I don't have those psycho cravings. I know I have to abstain from crap foods completely coz if I don't I'll seriously "fall off the band wagon." So how do I reach my goal of 1,450 calories per day, which is STILL less than I need to be eating to healthily lose weight?

I'm sorta having trouble eating now too because since last Monday I typically have anywhere from 300-800 calories PER DAY. This is my boyfriends way of dieting, and were dieting together, but I never realized just how unhealthy it is to starve yourself. I went to Complete Nutrition for the first time yesterday with a gf of mine and weighed in, and got the butt-chewing of a lifetime from the employee there for how little I was eating.

So cmon guys, help? I'm 5'6 and weigh (shh, no one tell!) 170. I need just over 1,500 calories a day at least because that's what my body burns naturally. That's not even including the exercise I'm doing now, 40 min a day (20 on treadmill, 20 on Xbox Biggest Loser). And sometimes go to Peak with my gf and get my butt seriously kicked for 3 hours. But I want to aim for only or at least 1,400 calories a day.
If it tastes good, spit it out.

Can you share your diet calendar so that we can see what you are eating right now?

2 Eggs for breakfast, tuna and yogurt and some veg for lunch and a peice of chicken or lean meat and veggies for dinner w a salad and your at 1200 cal a day easily... throw in a snack here and there and you are well on your way. What ARE you eating?

I am your height and weight and try to stay within same amount of calories and have several months of history logged. You can check my calendar for some ideas. I mostly cook from scratch, and follow generic low carb diet. A weekday would be a better day to check, as weekends are usually the days when I go out.

Thanks for the reply, everyone. I have shared my diet calendar, at least I think I did, so you can see what all I have listed. And I will def take a look at yours, Ingria, thanks. I tried eating more today but still can't get there!! But I have lost 9 pounds since last Monday yaaaaay! Was 176 now down to 166/167. Shoot, just imagine if every week could be like that!

I had the same exact problem when I started dieting! A friendly memeber told me to start cooking with full fat such as butter (more calories, 0 carbs) and start eating full fat dressings...instead of calorie free oil and vinegar...regular ceasar dressing, just as an example. This helped me and I hope it helps you Smile no need to eat junk or to eat more when you do this! xo

i was eating 300 cals a day and stopped loosing weight. it really pissed me off, until i realized that i was probably in starvation mode. now i'm trying to eat more reasonably and loose weight sustainably. nice work being conscious of the deficit. it's something i need to work on. i had 600 cals today, twice what i was eating before. i was snacking all day on fruit & veg.
