I found this article on a bass guitar website.

http://www.notreble.com/buzz/2012/03/30/food-for-thought-a-guide-to-healthy-eating-for-the-working-bassist/

It's a fun and informative read, and it brought out the thought "I wonder how many other musicians are out there in FatSecret land".

Let me hear ya!

My band is playing live tonight. Can't wait!

That's pretty interesting. I know I can't eat too close to a gig because I'll get shocking burps at the least, and actual reflux at the worst. Yay for correct vocal technique - it means EVERYTHING in your belly and chest is working, and pushing upwards! Acidic things are bad. Bananas are ace. Dairy messes with tonal production and breath efficiency. And a damn good stretch is IMPORTANT!

Sound advice! Pun absolutely intended. Smile

I'm considering getting a few energy shots, or bars, and simply try having one before each set, and a protein bar to end it all, after last set. I'm curious how it'll affect me.

I'm glad I don't have to worry too much about the food, in the way that I'm not singing. I do, however, want to feel comfortable when we play - so a large meal is a no-no.

BMI
According to my BMI I should weigh 115-154. I only use it to estimate what weight range I should head for, although I know it's not always an accurate indicator.
