I have only a few pounds left till I reach my "True Weight" and am mentally preparing myself for the switch to Consolidation.
I have been on a diet since 5 months and very hesitant as I have cheated only once (had a nice Dukan conform dinner but added one slice of bred and a few low-carb drinks) which resulted in an "overnight" gain of more than a kilo. It seems like I immediately retained the water. I got rid of it with PP days now but I wonder if a weight gain is to be expected when suddenly introducing 2 daily slices of bred, one piece of fruit and so on (as per the Dukan Diet Rules)?
I would like to know if those of you who switched had any problems?
Would you advise to
* go below True Weight to have a buffer?
* introduce new foods bit by bit instead of all at once?
* increase excercise intensity/frequency to level out the additional carbs and calories?
Thankful for any tipp you can give or experience you can share...
Lowcarbing my way through first Atkins and now Dukan, getting closer and closer to my target weight.

I'm not on dukan, but I would say yes to all of the above, except maybe the exercise. Personally, I plan to give myself a 10lb window once I reach goal. (My goal is 115, but I would like to maintain 110-120 lbs) I also plan to gradually increase my total caloric intake- but I have been told that you can gain weight initially but that it will level out. Not sure how I will do this, but right now I am thinking an extra 100-200 calories/day for a couple weeks, then up from there. So, if I were in your situation, I would probably add a piece of bread here and there, then fruit or whatever... You just want to choose healthy foods that still fit in your lifestyle. Bread is probably not the "healthiest" choice, but if you really like it and want to make it fit, then do so gradually. You may increase your activity if you are planning to eat more calories and aim for calories in = calories out.
I plan to weigh myself daily for a little while once I reach my goal and then weekly forever. That will be my plan for never being overweight again!
Good luck to you.

Yes I went below my true weight to give myself this little window of gaining some weight. I had trouble with the consolidation phase as I went many times over board due to stress and exams and gone back a couple of times to attack, but I'm happy like that. So during weekends I usually eat almost normal and than at the start of the week I balance it out with 2 days attack, than back on cruise and finally back into consolidation. I'm also working out in the gym now on a regular basis to maintain my weight loss. Experiment around and see what works for you, most important that you are in control, and not the food taking control over you.

Only a few pounds away from your true weight? That is great! My response to all your queries is a simple NO. However, I would also like to put your mind at ease about the switch from Cruise to Consolidation. My husband is on the Dukan diet and gained close to 1.5 lbs during this time but got back to his true weight by following the diet strictly. You need to understand that as the Cruise phase is ending, your body becomes like a calorie sponge and this may result in weight gain at this stage. However, the third stage is designed specially to help you make the transition from hard-core dieting to returning to normal eating habits. I suppose this makes Consolidation the most important phase of the

– that’s why you need to be extra careful. I suggest you stick to your personal plan and don’t introduce anything new, unless you check with the experts. Contact the Dukan diet team every time you have a doubt. You’re doing great so far so don’t let fear ruin this for you!

You lost what?!
Ha ha ha, I can't wait to weigh in at the end of the month and see where I am. I imagine I'll be somewhere close to a sperm whale's brain.

Swollen ankles???
Yes I get this. The main reasons tend to be sodium intake, lack of water, and hormones. I see from your food log that most days you are over 3000 and somethimes up to 5000mg in sodium. "They" ...
