I am considering doing a Warrior Dash this summer. Curious if anyone has completed one before. I don't swim, and have a fear of heights. Can I do it? I've checked out the
website
so saw little pics of the obstacles, but really can't tell how bad they'd be.
Advice for preparing? I'm running a half-marathon in June so I'm not concerned about the 3+ miles of running.[

Nice. I had a FS buddy who was going to do it, but I haven't heard from her. I'm SURE you can do it, Jess. Sounds like a great idea.

I'm thinking of doing one too! I think you can do it if you're running a half marathon. I'm no where near that but I know I can do the 3.5ish miles. My worry is climbing over the walls since I feel like I have no arm strength, but it should be with a few friends and someone can give me a boost if I need it. I read in some forum, who knows where, that there are usually so many people that you get breaks at the obstacles from the running and that there's plenty of people to help ya out. And as far as the swimming, I think there's just waist high water, max, so its more like trudging through and no swimming. (At least the one I was looking at) So clearly I'm voting for you to do it lol.

Cort (Coachcj
is going to be doing a Tough Mudder in September.. I want to say they are similar races, but I'm not sure. I know she's focusing in on the upper body strength aspect also. I want to do one of them SO bad!!! My sister and I were going to do one last September but it didn't work out. Jess - when/where would your race be?? I absolutely think you can do it!!!
Someone who is busier than you is working out right now.
There will come a day when you can no longer do this. Today is
not
that day.

Yep. I have friends doing the Mpls Tough Mudder in May I think? It looked waaaay too tough. It's Warrior Dash, but 3 times as long, and with 25 obstacles instead of 8 or 9.
I have a friend doing the Colorado one in August 18-19. And a college friend is interested in the Twin Cities - they have 2 set up. I'd prefer the September 8th one. I'll have to travel either way.
The walls freak me too for that reason - no upper body! And I'm heavier, so more for my 'friends' to pull up

Anyone using the Fitbit Flex or similar devices?
I have a bodymedia fit and love it. It really helps keep you motivated and focused. It does allow you to sync with a heart rate monitor, but I find it has been a good tool regardless.
