Hello and welcome! I'm on my second go-around with Atkins, it's the only diet that works for me. How many days have you been on induction? How are you getting along with it? How many pounds do you have to lose (if you don't mind saying)? I'm no expert but I'd be happy to offer my two cents if you have any questions. Good luck!

Hello ladies! I am new to fat secret.com and not really sure how it works! I am on the Atkins diet and lost 10 lbs so far. Working hard and it has been difficult. I'm not much of a dieter but have loved all the foods I have eaten so far. I just need some buddies to help me along the way. I have 3 kids and am trying to lose all the weight from having them.
They are 7,3,2. Love them with all my heart and just want to be able to be more active with them. Plus, do this for me tired of looking in the mirror and just seeing fat and not really seeing the true me. Thank you and look forward to hearing anyone's advice!

Count me in too. I've been on Atkins on and off for many years, plus have tried so many other diets I don't care to mention, but this time I have FINALLY gotten it through my thick skull that I must make this a life style change and not a temp. diet! It's the only diet that I feel amazing on, never hungry and my health improves drastically - so I'm in it for life this time! I'm no expert that is for sure. Have lost 25 lbs and about 50 more to go. Welcome MJ!

Hello all.. feel free to add me as friend as well. I think its a great idea to have friends who are on the same plan as you are. this way we can look at each others food journals and get more ideas of what others are eating.
I have fallen and failed, BUT I am picking myself up and starting this journey AGAIN!!!

I don't follow a specific plan ... I'm on a low-carb diet compiled from the several out there, and recommended by our endocrinologist. I can heartily attest to its success: I've lost 150 pounds (so far) this way. The loss has slowed now, but it's still coming down. I've got another 100 to go.
@ TTAbe ~ you're absolutely right! it's a lifestyle. I've heard lots of conversation about it being a "diet", and while it
is
a nutritional plan, if you look at it as something you're going to do to get to a goal and then go back to your previous dietary habits, it's a sure fail. Low-carb lifestyles get that from all fronts for that reason.
The wonderful thing, IMO, is how much better you feel. The healthy benefits are awesome. I'm also endlessly entertained by those who see the sorts of foods I'm eating and get "that look"; they're certain I'm either lying through my teeth or cheating like mad. They can't believe my foods. Heck, I eat better than most people
not
on reducing diets! Poor things ... all that no-fat, low-fat, calorie-counting .... bah. They can have it! Give me my butter and bacon and lovely creamy sauces and all the good meat and fats I can get.
What
deprivation?!? I don't see any! I'm not hungry, I don't get cravings, sometimes I have to
remind
myself to eat.
Induction can be a challenge. Everyone is different. You have to go at it wholeheartedly for the duration. Once you get your metabolism converted, it becomes much easier. But many people "try" it, and because they don't feel well after a few days they give it up as a bad choice. Not so. You just have to get your body past the metabolic tantrum it's going to pitch while you deprive it of its accustomed "easy" fuel: carbs. Once you convert to fat, you're set. So for anyone just starting out, hang in there. It gets better. Some people never have that "induction flu" at all ... others have it miserably. And it can last varying lengths of time. Just tough it out. It
WILL
fade away. Honest!
Better times are on your horizon.

forgotten we're really just animals.

Hello. I am also new to fatsecret.com. I am on day 4 of atkins and would love to have support as well. We all know how tough losing weight can be, but it definitely helps when you have people going through it with you and supporting one another. Let's do this!!

Hi Mjmomma, I started Atkins Induction on March 12, 2012 and am still doing the induction because I have a lot of weight to lose. I just found this site today and am willing to support you and any others doing Atkins.

You can add me as well. I'm still on induction ( wk 6 I think, but who's counting). I have a lot more to lose so I don't intend to move on to OWL any time soon. You will find that there are alot of helpful folks here. Welcome.

Hi all, I'd love to join you as well. I'm on my 4th week of induction. Had a great first two weeks, lost 10.5 lbs, third week was a bit disappointing, lost only .8, but a loss is a loss! I've been enjoying recipes from here and atkins.com. Unfortunately I haven't been good about recording my food or exercising, plan on working on both next week!

Hi everyone it's nice to see so many new Atkin-ites
How is everyone doing? I'm now in week 9 of induction (I think), I've stalled but hanging in there. Going on a cruise in April so I'm focusing on staying on track. Of course a cruise is not the place to lose weight and I plan on being naughty with some foods on the ship!! Here's a question I've wanted to ask, as I go through this every time I look in the mirror... what are your "fat spots" that you wish would go away first (but always seem like to most stubborn)??? For me it's my thighs and my back fat. I hate back fat!! Anyone else??
Have a great weekend and happy st. patty's day! Let's all enjoy some green sugar-free jello today!

I also have recently began Atkins. I am in induction (6weeks now) but have had alot of trouble losing the weight. I am finally on track and could definatly use some like minded friends for support. My DH tries but just doesnt understand how this makes me feel. I have alot to lose so I will be staying in Induction for awhile. So I would love to be buddies for you or anyone else looking for some support.
