Hello all. I'm new to all this so any pointers on anything would be much appreciated. I'm looking forward to the new "challenge" I've joined. I don't have 40 pds (close to) to lose, but will definitely motivate me to lose what I need to.

weigh & measure all your foods and log everything you eat. it will make you more accountable. when I started on here I never realized what I thought as 1 serving was really 2 or 3 (sometimes more)
and if you're not sure about something, just ask. there's a wealth of knowledge around here.

Log in all food, regardless if you go over your calories. (looks at my diet calendar for last night...eugh. Shouldn't have had sushi)

I get more by reading peoples journals and participating. I don't get much out of the challanges but they are fun from time to time! What ever works for you, DEF Log all food!

I am new here too and I have found that just in a few days of recording everything I eat, it makes me want to eat less.

I have tried the whole counting calories thing and it isn't for me. I tried, but find it frustrating. I have found that I am more aware of serving size than I used to be and try to keep 90% of my eating lean meats and fresh fruits and veggies with a couple of cheat meals a week. That seems to be working for me so far.
