Hi Vicky. I have tried weight watchers and but did not feel it was the right program for me. I have done better by focusing on eating healthier foods instead of being able to eat whatever i want. I do know alot of people who have had very good success with it though.

I was on ww about 10 years ago and got to my goal and stayed there for a few years. Life happended and I gained 59 lbs! I have all the info so I am doing ww on my own versus going to meetings. The best thing it taught me is portion control, which I lost site of.

Hi Vicky,
I joined WW countless times - it is a great well-balanced eating program. The fact that I didn't make it work for me (long term, anyway) was not the programs fault.
A few things I learned from WW was DRINK YOUR WATER. :- ) It took a few times of joining, but now I crave water and except for a cup of coffee in the AM, don't drink much else. When I have salad, I still keep the dressing separate and dip my fork tines into the dressing and then spread that small amount over the salad. (I am lucky that I really hate a lot of dressing in the first place...)
The best thing learned at WW is to record your food intake - write it down. I didn't do well with that when writing on paper, but since the advent of computers (and FS!!!) I find it much easier to track everything I eat.
Once I'm done with VLCD, I know I'll continue to use the tools FS has provided.
Good luck to you! Joyce

Hi there. about a year and a half ago i lost 68 pounds using the old weight watchers program. I logged my food in a food journal and tracked points on a calculator i found online for free. It was really really really great! I love it, and it seems to be a little more carbohydrate friendly than the new weight watchers points plus program. I tried that one too, last year at this time.
I favor the old program.
I gained all my weight back because of stress eating, though i maintained at 185 for about a year, just making better choices and only dipping back into tracking points when my weight started to go up.
I love the program.
Im counting calories now though, but if i wasnt i would be doing weight watchers.

I have done WW off and on. It didn't work for me. I blame myself not WW. I believe it is a really good program. I did learn that I need to track, drink water, eat 5 servings of fruit & veggies, take a vitamin every day and have healthy oils in my diet. I have remembered these things and so I did learn a lot from WW. If it was a free program I would probably try it again. I just can't afford to pay for the program. That is why I am trying out FS.

i did the old WW programm a few years ago - and i worked perfectly for me. i just had one HUGE problem: after stopping with WW (as i achieved my goals) i've seen point where ever i was looking. and that was a bit too much for me. i did it for about 9 months, wrote everything down and it really really worked. but i needed a lot of time to get rid of all the points i've seen in every little thing i was eating....

Weight Watchers is a terrific program. However weight loss is not about being in a program it is about mental reconstruction. You have to be in control of what you eat. The program assists you in being accountable for what you put in your mouth and it gives you a great group of supportive people who are also battling the same challenges that most of us are struggling with. I did Weight Watchers for a long time and it worked but now I do not have the finances to continue with the program and I have found that this website and the calorie counter app for my droid have been excellent! Good Luck!

I was on the old WW program and I lost 100lb.. After having 3 kids I have gained most of it back. Not the programs fault, but mine. I learned so much on WW especially, portion control. I haven't tried the new program. I have some friends who have tried it and none of them like it as much as the old program. I just started doing the old WW program on Jan1. I hope I have as much success as I did in the past! I wish you the best of luck also!!!

I tried weight watchers, but found simple counting and exercise worked better for me. It's an easier lifestyle for me to maintain than points. (I hate math.) FatSecret/Calorie Counter worked wonders!

Im trying the weight watchers points system on my own. I cant afford the official programme but found an android app for free that calculates points and allowances for you. So basically Im applying the points system to a Mediterranean diet. I dont know if the two will work together or not though.

I have been having a few sliced strawberries every few days with a MIM or scrambled eggs. I use them as a garnish and that way I don't go overboard. No weight gain with a few berries!
