I was really hungry this morning and had a choice between a breakfast burrito and a banana. I'm proud that I choose the banana. However, when I recorded a food entry, I had no idea there are so many carbs in one banana! Next time its an APPLE for me!!

We learn new things every day. I think it's important for us to do these little experiences. If we discover things for ourselves, many times they stick better. We learn from our mistakes, right?
The banana was most likely still the better choice of the two, though.

If there's a specific reason why you're worried about those carbs, then you might want to restrict bananas. Otherwise, remember that CARBS ARE NOT EVIL! They have a place in a balanced diet and I really don't stress the ones I'm getting from whole foods as long as I'm getting enough protein and healthy fat in my diet. For example, a banana is great fuel for a workout, when it's a great accessable fuel source (which you need to keep your body from catabolizing your existing muscle!). Low fat mania has given way to low carb mania but really, we need all these things in our diet.

Apple great choice. With all the fiber in an apple it digests slower preventing your insulin from spiking like a banana does. The pectin in apples also helps you feel full longer.
Learning to eat healthy is an eye opening experience. I have learned so much in the last couple years about nutrition and weight loss.

Carbs aren't so bad. Small banana has about 23 grams vs small apple with about 13 grams. Carbs are necessary for energy. Eat one before you workout.
