I am so glad that I have found this web site. I am a 47 year old woman. I have been on a yo-yo for about 10 yrs now. I believe learning to eat healthy leads to a healthy person. It's sticking to it and not trying to take short cuts in losing the weight. I have always put my children and my grandchildren's first. Now its my time!

Welcome to the site... It's definately an eye opening experience. There is alot of support here and good advice on how to get through just about any diet/lifestyle issue.
My tip is to be open and honest and willing to share with all.
Good luck.

Welcome. I think you will like this site. I know I love it. Keeps me on track and accountable. We seem to have some things in common if you would like to add me as a buddy maybe we can help motivate each other.

Welcome aboard! Keep those before pictures, and make sure you take progress photos along the way. Later on down the road you'll be glad you did. Fatsecret is an awesome tool to help you succeed on your journey to better health and longevity. You also can't beat free membership!

Our community is just like one big family. Most of the time we all get along, but some of us are more vocal with our opinions than others(points at self) which can stir things up. In the end we are all here for the same reason.. better health. I won the fat battle and I seem to be keeping the weight off just fine.

I like something you said in your post. Not taking short cuts to lose weight. Very important. It is difficult enough to lose weight. The biggest part of the battle is keeping it off. If you try and starve yourself to lose weight your only slowing your metabolism to a crawl. This most definitely leads to all the weight coming back plus more.

I'm also 47, but feel much younger now that I have lost 100 lbs mainly because of all the extra energy I have now.

Good luck on your journey.. enjoy the ride.

Can you do yogurt? A friend recommended to me plain yogurt with splenda mixed in. Maybe try that with some berries. I've been putting frozen raspberries in my protein shake.
