Stated my own challenge today "Spinning Challenge" I would be delighted if any spinners out there would join. At least 4 spin sessions per week, calorie control and drinking plenty of water.
I'm fairly new to the site (I've been using the ipad app) so any recommendations or buddie requests for motivation more than welcome

Good stuff, keep it up. I've been spinning for around 3 months. Average 2-3 spins a week but want to push myself to do more!
Good luck with the challenge!

Hello there! I am also a spinning addict! I started exactly 3 months ago, and try to maintain 3 to 4 sessions a week! And it is working great!!! Since June I lost about 6 kgs, but the most drastic change is the way it is shaping my body and how great and stronger I feel!

just bought an decent exercise bike a week ago. Hubby who is much fitter than me liked the spinner, I liked the recumbant as the spinner saddle felt like a razor blade to my fat butt and I was scared that I'd forget you just can't stop peddling....so we compromised and bought a good programmable upright......so do I count?...can I play?...how long is a session? How many calories would you say I need to burn off in my session?

Absolutely
don't need to be spinning, exercise bike or outdoor cycling will do nicely but you really need to push it. 400 - 600 calories plus per session!
Agree with the blade, took me a while to adjust!
Put some tunes on and start pushing those legs, when it hurts, don't give up, keep pushing yourself.

I'm in! I sweat buckets on that thing! have a tv in front of it, so just load up a film and try to keep the sweat out of my eyes...lol
It will take a while to work upto 400 - 600 cals just on the bike, I usually manage that on treadmill, rower and bike combined. Really feeling the benifits though.
With those sort of calories per session I reckon I could cycle to the US and back (in UK)...that's perhaps another challenge for another day

Just had a thought...route 66 is 2448 miles.
Think I'll start my journey toninght and see how many months it takes me.
I'm even going to print off a map and plot my journey, just another little motivator!

Sweat out of your eyes, now that sounds a little extreme
I'm keen on spinning but Route 66 seems a little far! although I'm sure you'll experience some better weather than here in the UK.
Looking forward to getting this challenge going!

I'd like to be able to spin more often but it makes me so sore in the keister- the type of sore that is deep enough that if I get on a bike again within a day or two it seriously hurts and it's pretty uncomfortable still for several days after that. How do you regulars overcome this???

Oooch -- You can purchase Gel pad covers, I don't have one but our instructors do. I've had a few "raw" experiences which have stopped me spinning a few times. When this challenge starts, I'm expecting to have to purchase one of those pads!

Do warm-ups and cool-downs count?
Warm ups are important as they prepare the muscles for intensive activity. A warm up can be 10 mins on a bike or cross trainer and is included in your 30 minute exercise programme. However if you are ...
