What does being short have to do with strength training? Absolutely nothing.
If you want a good program, try "New Rules for Women". Also
www.bodybuilding.com
has several programs. Stick with a program. Don't make something up. And don't be afraid to lift like a man.

Pole Fitness/Dance is a great way to build muscles and loose weight. And it is fun at the same time
Hope you can use the suggestion
And good luck.

What you mean is that you're out of shape. Not that you're short so you can't do much. You need to research what you seek. Everyone else can't do all of your research for you. You need to get online or go to your local library and read about weight training and fitness. Good luck to you.

I'm short and I couldn't lift much bc I've been flabby and out of shape...I don't see what being short has to do with it. I do zumba and just started yoga. Zumba is great cardio for anybody. Yoga really works your muscles and makes you flexible.
I don't really have a schedule this time around. I set an amount of time I go to the gym per week. I just go to the classes I like and enjoy different weight workouts each week. This seems to be working well for me.
I do that so I can have free time when I choose. Besides when I used to be thin, it was bc I was out doing different active things all the time. I discovered fitbie on msn they have a lot of workouts I like. I love this standup ab workout.

I lost a lot of weight 2 years ago before my wedding by just having a personal trainer set me up with something. You may want to consider that.

Start by not making excuses. Next figure out what you enjoy and will stick to. I started out with a little walking and now I run almost every day.....and I sucked at it at first, but thats the way it goes. Nothing comes easily and humility is often involved, but you will be amazed at how quickly your finess level increases!
DO IT! Good Luck.
Do it now...tommorrow never comes!

Why can you not do much weight lifting? I am 4'10 and do weight lifting 2 - 3 times a week - there is absolutly nothing stopping you from doing it but yourself.
Mike said it best - NO EXCUSES.. just do it. Find something you like and do it. I sucked so bad at Zumba when I first started - I loved it though and after 6 weeks I look like less of a fool than when I started.
Also you are losing weight, how old are you and why do you want to weigh 95 pounds? Would it not be better to weight 110 pounds and look like you weight 95 pounds? I am just curious as my goal is 110 pounds which is in the healthy zone for my height.
You say you want a cheeseburger but all I hear is "I need love" - a comic strip on the fridge at work.
You have failed only when you quit trying. Until then, you're still in the act of progression. So, never quit trying and you'll never be a failure.

I gleaned what works for me from Power 90. It takes ten minutes and then I'm done. The weight loss says it all.
3 neck rolls
3 shoulder roll both directions
120 simultaneous knee raises/arm raises
1000 steps of 'x' work (jogging in place)
40 sets of 'fighters' arm punching
20 leg kicks out front and out to the side from the hip both legs
after ten minutes finish with 2 minute gentle movement cool down.

I'm glad you posted that. I have a P90 dvd somewhere, need to find it. It's a good sweat and I need some stretching.

"Would it not be better to weight 110 pounds and look like you weight 95 pounds?" This quote from Pixidaisy is so on the money I can't stand it. It needs to be entered in the contest for 'best post' or something similar. My point has been made.
You all rock. Every single one of you, no matter where you are at.
