I'm so excited to be within walking distance of the Farmer's Market this year! I went today and saw lots of goodies (but only bought a few for the week). Pork tenderloin with roasted potatoes, mushrooms, asparagus and summer squash for dinner. And yep, leftovers for lunch!!! Oooh and fresh strawberries for dessert and breakfast tomorrow!
I also picked up this amazing flavored EVOO! They have like 20 different flavors, but I got the Tuscan Herb.
I like veggies, but this just sparks a whole new love for them since they're locally grown and so fresh and flavorful. None of that picked when half-ripened s##t at the grocery store!

Yay!
One of the advantages of living in California is that I'm surrounded by excellent farmers markets, and I can also get very good produce in some local stores. I picked up a couple perfectly sweet and juicy honeydew melons last weekend.
I only eat supermarket produce when I'm desperate.

Notjust for Californians...we Midwesterners benefit as well. I live walking distance from two farmers markets, but usually go on Sunday mornings to a suburban one near my mom's house -- it tends to be cheaper than the city-based. Ours don't open until the end of this, since our local produce is later. This year pickens may be slim -- it's a bad growing season. For the first time in 20 years, I don't have my own tomato plants.

Fruit
Can you do yogurt? A friend recommended to me plain yogurt with splenda mixed in. Maybe try that with some berries. I've been putting frozen raspberries in my protein shake.
