Hi everyone
New to fatscreat and i'm just alittle puzzled about the high RDI that i've been given 3200 calories aday does this sound right?
I've always believed that i was suppost to be around 1900 calories per day and this worries me that i'll be eating far too much and end up gaining
Does anybody else have a high RDI and if so has it effected there weightloss?

I was also a bit confused about RDI - but it seems you decide what is your ideal wieght i.e 140lb then times it by your exercise level, 15 for low, 17 for medium and 20 for very active so if not active 140lb would need 2100 calories to maintain the weight - so if you think it's high check what you put in as your target/ideal weight - good luck

I find the RDI on fatsecret to be a little high, especially when you're starting out. At 225 pounds, it gave me 1700 calories. I went with 1500 and lost pretty nicely. Try a couple of different calorie calculators (there are tons of them on the interet to choose from, calorie counter and webmd have a couple of good ones) then find a middle ground among on the different numbers you get. If you're losing at that number, stick with it (remember to subtract some as you lose, I generally remove 50 calories for every 10 pounds I lose). If you aren't losing at that number, lower it a little.
Good luck.

I've just had it recommended by my doctor that I increase my RDI. I don't know how to do this in fat secret. Can anyone help?

Yea, fat secret RDI is very high. To the point that if you used that number, you would probably gain weight unintentionally. I would google about your BMR and go from there with the activity you do and such. I know for me the number was way above 3000 on here and that would no doubt cause me to gain like 2 pounds a week, not lose.
I'd almost believe just about everything on this site, except for that.

Just factor in .5 lbs lost a week and go by that as your RDI.
Thats what I do
