Have you changed up your exercise? If you keep doing the same thing you will eventually stop seeing rapid results. Do something different. Drink more water. Eat something entirely different. Lower your RDI. These are just some suggestions. Hope this helps!! Don't give up!!

Carol, I'd suggest no more Pepsi or McDonalds. Replace those with something more nutrient rich.

Thank You!! I was losing every single day riding my stationary bike, but just stopped losing.
Yesterday I decided to do Richard Simmons Sweatin to the Oldies in the morning, ride my stationary bike with the moving arms 30 minutes in the afternoon, then again 30 minutes in the evening. But I guess one day is not enough to see a difference. I just don't have the energy to do much more, I hope it is enough.
I really miss watching the scale go down everyday, I felt like I was getting somewhere. And I had really high hopes that I would see a difference when I got below 125, and I get to 125 and just stopped Sad
I will try different foods also, thank you.

5 days? You gotta have patience! There was a active post yesterday about how your weight can stay constant for quite a few days, weeks, even months, then suddenly drop many pounds all at once. Don't assume your approach isn't working just because it's been a few days since you've seen a drop. Your body is a complex machine and it doesn't always reflect changes on your time frame, but that doesn't mean they aren't happening. Keep your eye on the prize and you'll eventually see the change. Also, if you're new to diet and exercise, its pretty common to see more rapid losses at first, but then the pace tends to slow. Have you ever watched the first week of the Biggest Loser? Those people can lose like 50 lbs! But week 2 is always VERY different, even though they're probably working harder than in week 1.

If you haven't taken your measurements, I would recommend doing these too- it will give you a way of seeing beyond the scale when you judge your performance. And get away from daily weigh ins. If you check your weight daily, you'll expect to see changes daily and that's just not realistic in the long run.

Replace the sugar with something else, pepsi, in your coffee, elsewhere. Either cut it out completely or switch to artificial sweetners. From your diet calendar it doesn't look like you're eating many calories (900 is not a lot) no matter what your goal, your body will not function without food. You need to eat REAL food - lean meat, veggies - the kind you cook yourself, not the kind out of a package or from a restaurant.

Have patience, cut out the pepsi and sugar, change what I eat,
change my exercises, no more mcdonalds even if it is in my RDI,
guess this is going to be more difficult than I hoped.
But I am determined so I will give it all a try.
Thank You

I will have to respectfully disagree with giving up pepsi and mcdonalds Smile Eat what ya want, but make sure and do it with a keen eye for calories in and calories out. I probably eat more processed food than anyone on this site.. lol.. if it comes from a prepackaged box and can be cooked in about 3-5 minutes i've ate it. But I also keep my calories constant. I hit my "plateau" about 3 weeks ago.. However, despite the scale not moving, my body was still transforming. Losing inches, getting cut, and lookin fine!! My weight stalled for awhile and it was frustrating looking at the scale, the hardest part was deciding that the scale didn't control me. Start looking at your body and the inches instead of the scale and those DAMN NUMBERS!

I didn't think it mattered what I ate as long as I stay within my RDI.
But I just am not sure anymore. So I think I will try to cut out at least half of the sugar in my beverages, and cut down the half quarter pounders to just once in awhile. I was willing to exercise more just so I could drink my coffee with sugar, lol I am pathetic hahaha
But I think I will get out the tape measure, it would help chear me up to see my waist shrink even if the scale doesn't.

Perhaps 125 is a good weight for you. Have you discussed your weight goals with your doctor?

Thank you, but I am only a little over 5 feet tall so 125 is very round on me. Being short does make a difference.

I'm 5', too. And if you tone up your body, 125 isn't that bad of a weight. It's just going to take some time to show results--five days is nothing. It took me 2 weeks to lose around 5 pounds. XD

Panther - in my experience as a girl, boys can lose weight eating trash, but we have a lot more difficulty. Just because you can eat processed food does not mean that others can and still succeed. Eliminating sugar is an easy thing to do and saves you lots of calories with little effort.

Remember if you're working out hard you have to eat more to compensate so your body doesn't eat your muscles instead of your fat. Keep that in mind, best of luck.

My wife is right there along with me. And she is down 17 lbs to my 23, I understand what your saying.. But the law of "pound" is the same for everybody. 3500 calories = 1 lb. U said that eliminating sugar was easy... not for everybody, especially us who love it. Sugar is wonderful, and just as wonderful in moderation. If you start sacrificing everything you love to chow down on to lose weight, the "idea" of being healthy seems more like a chore than a manageable lifestyle. If the woman likes her some pepsi, let her drink herself a couple a day Smile

Typically with all things equal - same calories in, same workouts, ect. But you don't lose weight for 5 days, and then drop 3 pounds in one day. It's not that you lost 3lbs of fat in one day, or you weren't losing fat the other 5, it's just the water weight messed with the scale. It happens all of the time, I definitely would NOT panic after 5 days. If it goes on for a couple of weeks, it could be a plateau from starvation mode if you are eating to little.

Give it more time. I would cut out the sugar too if you can because of the effect on insulin. If you can't give it up, have your soda with a protein & fiber rich meal to slow down the digestion and lower the insulin spike. Never, ever have a high GI carb on an empty stomach. That is a recipe for disaster, creating blood sugars peaks and crashes. This messes with your hunger and your increases the chances of fat-storage.

I agree that women have a harder time losing weight than men. It's simple biology. Our bodies need the fat more for the possibility of sustaining another life.

Empty calories (soda) does you absolutely no good. I'm not one for eliminating things, but the less soda the better. It frees up the calories for nutritious food that will actually benefit your body.

I actually like your advise better Panther Smile
But I do drink too much sugar. I don't usually eat sweets so thought it didn't matter to much. But it wouldn't hurt me to cut it down by half for awhile, and see how I do. Just not sure I can drink the diet sugar. Think it would be easier to just not drink as much then to use the diet sugar. My plan I thought of yesterday was to eat a juice popsicle instead of grabbing a pepsi. Less calories and has juice, hahaha that probably is not the greatest idea. But I do like popsicles.

Haha, hey sounds like a good trade off! I went from 550 calorie ice cream sandwiches to 130 calorie skinny cow ice cream sandwiches and can't tell the difference! Not to mention when I make a fountain drink I fill it 1/2 regular dr. pepper and 1/2 Diet dr. pepper Smile Now is your time to experiment, so have fun with finding out what works out just right for you!! It takes a while to find that happy medium, but it sure is worth it!

P.S Careful when mixing diet drinks, I did this today and my stomach is really wanting to take me out back and just beat me to death.. Maybe it is the different types of fake sugar.
