I am two months into this fitness journey and am doing good with the diet and cardio. I know it is time to add soem strength training and I know that a group exercise class is a good way for me to do it (since there is no way I am venturing back into the weight machine area yet). My gym has a Bodypump and Power Sculpt class and I know I should do them. but I keep coing up with excuses: I am not fit enough yet. I will look stupid. I do not know how it works etc etc.

Can anybody help provide me with some motivation to suck it up and go!

TIA

OMG do BodyPump!!! It's my favorite Smile. It completely changed my body. I wish I'd done it sooner! You can do it. There are all levels of fitness in the class at my gym. Just take it easy with very light weights until you understand the motions.

I was really nervous about going to a group exercise class, but finally talked myself into starting step aerobics. I'm so glad I did because I love it! There are all different sizes and levels of people, and no one has ever acted rude or judgmental about anyone else; everyone is pretty much just there for him or herself. I'm sure you can do it and I hope you get great results!

You can pick something similar, such as calisthenics, conditioning exercise, or circuit training (depending on the intensity). You can enter a custom exercise and name it whatever you are doing DVD and ...

Newbie and question
Search for 'BMR calculator'.... there are different ways of measuring it but you should be able to get an idea.
