I got this one two weeks ago and I really like it.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0020MMCDE/ref=oss_product
It's the Omron Full Body Sensor Body Fat and Body Composition Monitor
It tells you you're weight, your body mass index (BMI), your body fat percentage, your skeletal muscle percentage, your visceral fat percentage, your resting metabolic rate, and your body age. It has the ability to track history for multiple people as well.
The instructions to the scale state that the best time to weigh yourself and do the diagnostics is first thing in the morning (when I weigh myself anyway).
Another feature I like is resting metabolic rate. Today, it told me my rate was 1888 calories. For a male being 5'9" tall, I would have thought it to be higher. That information is helpful from a dieting perspective and will be helpfull in the future from a maintenance perspective.
The body age feature is not nice.
I find it to be pretty accurate - just be sure not to hold the handle while you're weighing yourself. Weigh yourself, then pick up the handle to get more diagnositcs.

I still like mine. That "body age" feature is pretty brutal though. When I first used it on December 1st, it said my body age was 62 years old (I'm thirty eight). I'm down to 56 years old but dang - that's just not nice.

@Ed/Stacie I too have been looking for a scale (didn't end up up under the tree - I must have been on the naughty list)have you ever done any other type of body fat test to compare the accuracy of the scale? How is this scale for repeatability?

Ed...I totally know what you mean! I am 33 and it said I was 60!!!
@Icleaner2b...I think it is great for repeatability. Plus it can program up to 4 different people and keep track if each persons individual history (plus a guest feature).
I am getting an annalysis done at my gym hopefully next week so I will be able to compare numbers and see the accuracy. But based on what my last test at the gym said, I would say this is pretty accurate.
Over all, I reccomend this scale

@StacieRitz - Did you ever have this done?
Based in large part on the discussion in this thread, I bought the same Omron scale, and it just arrived yesterday.
It seemed to get my weight pretty accurately, but the body fat % was actually a little lower than some of the other rough estimates I'd measured. I'm curious to see how accurate the Omron is - obviously I'd prefer that its reading is correct
Anyone else ever have any verification of the Omron's numbers....?

I did get my test done on Monday using the calipers by the personal trainer.
All of my information came out to be about 2% difference between the gym and my scale...2% in favor of the gym recording.
I am always 2lbs heavier at the gym than my home scale. but my BMI was 31% at the gym and 33% on my home scale....I think this is a pretty accurate differeance.
So far I have been very happy with this scale
(except the age anylisis that says my body age is 61! I am 33...oh well!)

Sorry for the late response. I had a trainer do a body fat analysis a few weeks before I got the scale and I discussed it with the trainer as well. Like Stacie, I was within 2% - the scale sad I had two percent more. That's close enough for me but my thoughts were that the scale measure visceral as well as subcutaneous fat. The calipers measure subcutaneous fat only so I can live with the two percent difference.
From a weight perspective, the scale is consistent if I step on it, check weight, get off, check weight again.
I'm still very happy with mine.

BEST FREAKING SCALE EVER!!!!
I receieved the Omron HBF 400 scale for Christmas, and it's been the greatest thing ever...super accurate, it remembers who you are, tells you your bf%, and BMI.
I love it so much, I even named it. "Gus" never lets me down.
You will NOT be dissapointed. I promise.
AND-- Yes, I was just at the gym and had my body fat percentage measured by my PT--My scale at home says 23%, the gym says i'm 24%, so it's pretty close!
The difference between
want

need
is

The importance of setting your Recommended Daily Intake RDI
I agree... If you stick with the default you will most likely not see the results you want. I adjust my calorie range for every 5-10 pounds lost. I need to redo mine today.
