Have you noticed that the activity on FatSecret has slowed down a little? It might be because of the holidays. People are really busy or maybe over-indulging in holiday foods.
It's hard to hold the line on your weight program during the holidays - too many temptations.
I'm sure that once that holidays are over everyone will be coming back - over-indulged and filled with regret...

They'll bring a bunch of resolutioners with them too. Those people usually last a month at most. January is a great month for gym membership sales!

Lol I came walking back after thanksgiving with my head hanging, they will be back too! It is rather slow today, which is making this terribly boring job of mine even worse. O_o

Well, I'll raise a glass (of vodka soda) to all of us non-resolutionists who are sticking it out before, during and after the holidays. Thanks for posting and giving me things to think about other than eating.

I don't think they're waiting til January this year. I don't know what happened but my Gym has been packed full this month. All the equipment is constantly taken. I'm all for people getting healthier but they're really getting in the way of my workout. God, this sounds awfully selfish of me but I don't care. I hate that my routine gets interrupted because I have to wait for a machine or free weights.

LOL funny article Hoser...yes, I agree that in January we should expect a massive influx of new self-loathing & desperation. I do think people are busier around the holidays so that probably does have a lot to do with the reduced activity around here. I know that personally I already spend way too much time on here during the day catching up with my buddies' journals...if I actually commented on all of them I'd never get any work done.
I do, however, enjoy a rousing forum discussion as much as everyone else...I can think of something I have questions about so I'll post something.

I am still here too...I think I am one of the rare ones who actually joined Fatsecret in November to get a kick jump for the the Holidays
I have lost 8lbs since joing FS on Nov. 3 and I am only 2lbs away from a 60lb gone milestone...I am definitely hanging onto this site through the holidays and beyond...it is one of my best motivators

I'm here
I'm always on fatsecret but I've got to get more involved w/the forums and posting. I love this website. It's so nice to be able to see exactly how many calories I'm eating - helps keep me accountable! I'm suprised at how easy this life change has been for me. Usually I diet and make restrictions on what I eat. Now, if I want it I eat it, but I count it. I know one day soon, I'll need to tweak my eating some more, but easing into this has proven to be the most beneficial to me.
Hoser - funny article. I've been dreading the January crowd at the gym for some time now...hopefully the resolutionists won't be "exercise before work-ist" too

I'm here too. Just haven't been posting. I've been busy knitting hats for the homeless, but I will look at the forums when I give myself a break. My gym got influx of people after Thanksgiving and there has been more everyday. It doesn't help that they offer promotions at same time lol
And go Stacie you're doing great

I'm still here seeking help as usual. Haven't been doing well with writing in the my journal, but I'm here. K8yk, you always inspire me. I'll be thinking of you when I'm in AZ visiting my parents during Christmas.

I think we should all give ourselves a huge pat on the back for sticking to the program through thick and thin( notice the pun ha ha)! I have been doing weight watchers for 3 years now and I find the holidays to be a rough patch for me every single year. But, I know with WW on my side I will make it through, without overdoing. For all those who stray we are still here working hard and thats what matters!

I'm here and noticed the same slack in activity. I miss the people fighting for challenges and talking back and forth with each other. But I am still motivated and chucking off the lbs this holiday season, and that will put me 10 lbs ahead of everyone else when they jump on in January.

I'm around, but I have alot going on irl. Sooo yeah. lol. I'm not getting in all the exercise I need to, and have been eatting on the high end of my rdi lately. So I guess I feel a bit guilty about it, and don't post as much because of that. I'm trying to stick with the journalling/food recording/weighins as best I can right now. Next week should be better for me. ^.^ And I hope by the time the New Year rolls around to be fully back on track and dropping lbs!
I've also noticed the slowness around the site..not nearly as many posts/new members/journals right now. :/ Kinda miss it. XD I read on FS when I get bored and I'm tired of chores. -___-
