I've been gone for some time...totally off track. I got so frustrated that I quit for a bit, ate what I wanted and stopped working out. Not completely. But, I stopped enough that I wasn't losing weight and even gained back 2 pounds.

However, the great news is that today began my first day of my ½ marathon training. The marathon will be in February. I began this morning with a mix of running and walking for 45 minutes. It felt amazing to be out in the crisp air and see the sun come up. I need to drive along the route to check how many miles it is. I imagine it was around 3½ miles total.

My breakfast this morning was a whole grain english muffin, tomato slice, 1 egg, spinach and low-fat cream cheese. I feel energized and totally ready to be healthier and thinner. Size 4's in my closet, listen up!..I'll be wearing you again very soon Smile

Congrats for getting back on track! I, too, am training for a 1/2 marathon which is Oct 31. Instead of getting in your car and driving the distance you walked/ran, try www.mapmyrun.com. I love that website! You can save all your routes and you'll know exactly how far you've been or how far you want to go. Hope you like it and good luck in your training!

How are you all running so far??? I mean skybly you got frustrated and quit, then out of nowhere ran for 45 minutes????? It's amazing to me and wonder how you all are doing it???

Welcome back! I am also training for a 1/2 marathon, in March. I'm recovering from a knee injury, so I'm also starting at about 3 miles, walking when I need to.

Agreed. Mapmyrun is really helpful. Great for finding other runs in your area, too.

Good luck!

Foodlady, I totally know what you mean! I remember how tough 1 mile was and thinking how could I possibly run a 5K?? For me, it was a slow road of building up my stamina and finding what works for me. I listened to music to keep me going and I ran at a very slow pace. Finding a good training schedule that works for you is also a good idea. One day run a fast short distance, the next day jog your slow long distance... it's all about what works for you. For some people running comes easy, for me I had to work at it. With a little patience, you'll get there! Smile Don't get discouraged!

Yes I get this. The main reasons tend to be sodium intake, lack of water, and hormones. I see from your food log that most days you are over 3000 and somethimes up to 5000mg in sodium. "They" ...
