Hi everyone
I am currently walking with a friend of mine in the evenings five nights a week and i have cut back on my portions and my junk.
this is my first week and i just weighed in and lost 2.5 lbs.
I would like to lose 30 lbs and was thinking about adding a full body workout 3 days a week to my workout.
I have a dvd that is about a 1/2 hr long
Should I???????????

I guess it depends. Are you the kind of person who jumps into things with both feet and then ends up feeling overwhelmed? I am. For me, gradual changes are best, but of course, it really depends on your personality. There's no question that you'd benefit from the workouts. You just have to weigh that against longevity probability.

I would suggest doing what you're doing for two more weeks and then start the workout plan. This is the first time I'm really sticking with a lifestyle change and I've been just working out eating healthy for the past month and now I starting working out this week. It takes 21 days (most studies say) to create a new habit. I would say walk for three weeks (total) and watch what you eat. Once you really feel like you'll do it all the time add the workout. You'll be more likely to stick to it.

Thanx for the good imput...it always helps to have second opinions.

Do warm-ups and cool-downs count?
Honestly, I think it depends on what workout you're going with. I do cardio from a dvd with Denise Austin, and yes, I count the warm up and cool down... just because they feel like (together) they ...

Have you found the exercise Brazil butt lift? I would like to gain tone but not build heavy, thick looking legs. Is this possible? Also need suggestions for upper body with the same philosophy.
