how to change it? Stop drinking so much and make smart food choices...
One alcoholic beverage, then switch to water, and choose low calorie options on the menus...

Buy drink mixes to bring with you with zero carbs. See

and

and skinnygirlmargaritas. Stick to chips and salsa and try to limit that. if low carbing- stick to non braded chicken wings.

if you are going out to eat, look at the menu online ahead of time and decide what to get. suggest restraunts that have yummy healthy choices. sub fries with crunchy veggies or fruit.
offer to split with a friend. if you want something besides water, ice tea is great, add some lemon and slenda.
ask a friend to split a meal.
as for drinks, i get drinks that i drink slowly, like vodka cramberry, too tart to drink fast. it lasts longer and becomes more of a prop in my partying hand rather than a beverage.
if you feel weird about asking for obvious "diet" choices with friends around say, ive lost x lbs so far just by not drinking or whatever, people will be supportive, not awkward.

Pardon my bluntness, but you already know what the problem is, eating out and drinking. So you could stop eating out and drinking. I don't understand why anyone feels that they "have" to eat out and drink, or that they aren't in control of that part of their life. Sometimes, to reach our goals we have to be willing to give up some things, make some sacrifices. No, we don't want to give up so much that we are miserable, but there is no achievement without some discipline. Suggest other things to do with your friends where eating would be optional or not part of the plan. Go to a movie (you don't HAVE to get popcorn or candy, the focus is the movie), go bowling (you don't HAVE to hit the snack bar, you're there to Bowl, not eat), go race go-karts, go fishing and pack your own healthy snacks, get a group together to take a healthy cooking class, stroll through a museum or take swing dance lessons, etc. You need to claim control over your choices. You're not forced to go out eating and drinking, you're choosing too. So, if you are going to make that choice, then prepare for it as others have suggested by ordering healthy choices from the menu, specifying how you want it prepared (without sauces, etc.) and drink club sode or water with lemon or the lightest possible light beer and don't drink too many. Maybe if all your friends want to get together specifically to eat, you could invite them to your house and cook something healthy for everyone and just break out the playing cards, XBox, Wii, board games or whatever for a nice healthy night "in". Claim the problem, take control, own it, and realize you are making a choice either way.

BMI
According to my BMI I should weigh 115-154. I only use it to estimate what weight range I should head for, although I know it's not always an accurate indicator.

Is Quitting An Option???
One of the biggest thing I had to learn was not to quit after 1 slip up. Usually the guilt got the best of me, but I handle it a lot better now.
