is anyone experiencing hunger with Atkins ? I'm on induction [2nd week] and I am hungry almost all the time. The only that fills me up i snacking on cheese but, it says I should have it in moderation, plus I think its making me constipated. Today, I went over the limit with cheese and jello I think, probably no weight loss for me in these last days. Can anyone look at my diet calendar and tell me if i am doing something wrong ? is anyone experiencing hunger on the plan ?

Right off the top I see you really haven't had much in the form of protein and fat. Fat during Atkins is crucial in curbing hunger.

well i usually have about 70-100 grms of fat a day. But yeah today was horrible, and I didn't consume much fat, a lot of jello and cheese and that maybe the reason, thanks !

My bad. I took another look at it. I see you are consuming too few carbs. Why aren't you getting your 20 net grams? Atkins is a scientific program. You need to eat a balance of 60% fat/30% protein/10% carbs. Some people alter 65% fat with 5% carbs with equal results. Depends on you. However, you still need 12-15 net carbs from veggies.

A lot of people also report problems when consuming too many sugar free products. The artificial sweeteners used in these foods will actually trigger cravings. Good luck!

I'm sure you will be fine. You've already lost 4lbs and being you don't have much to lose, it'll be slower.

I find that boiled eggs or even better deviled eggs keep me filling full.

I only see your only taking in about 2g of fiber per day. You need about 25g per day. This is what is constipating you. Try mim's or mix "Benefibre' in a flass of water.
Fiber also helps you feel full. Fiber is also responsible for lowering your colesterol.
Fiber helps the body gather and eliminate cholesterol
Dietary fiber binds bile, fatty acids, and blood cholesterol together into a large package of waste. Because it makes stool bulkier, fiber promotes easier bowel movements, and helps transport cholesterol out of your body.

OK..I'm only going thru 1 day here. (2/6)

Low-fat cream cheese::: Ditch the low-fat. Never choose low-fat products. They rob you of the good stuff (fat) and put in sugar.

Limit your artificial sweeteners to 3 per day. That includes jello, diet pop and crystal light. (You have at least 8 servings)

Your NET carbs from veggies=5. You are supposed to get 12-15 NET carbs from veggies alone, for a TOTAL of 20 NET carbs per day.

Agree with PF...Your fiber is WAY too low.

Here is where I think that you need to focus, in order.

1) 12-15 NET carbs from veggies.
2) Protein, fat and carbs with every meal.
3) Fiber with every meal
4) If you are hungry, eat.
5) Limit the artificial sweetener
6) Drop the low-fat cheeses, and limit total cheese to 4oz per day.

Highly suggest that you go to http://community.atkins.com/all_content.jsp and take the lesson on Induction.

Eating enough fat (olive oil, butter, avocado) & protein (no lowfat!) is key as well as lots of veggies with fiber- if you do that, you should not be hungry at all. Ditch the artificial sweetner, processed stuff. Low-fat just has fillers that make you more hungry.

Craving
Well good luck with those challenges. There must be a good reason you feel you can't have just one of the carb, lower calorie beers. I admire your discipline and determination.

weigh in
Good luck! I weigh in every day which has to stop. It is too easy to get caught up in the excitement of seeing the scale drop so much in a week-that is because of water weight I am sure.
