I'm finally getting myself back on track with my diet and work outs, but I was wondering is it better to eat before or after I work out? I usually only have time for a workout in the morning, early, before school or work. So is a light breakfast okay before my morning jog?

Both. But for different reasons. You want a little something before your morning workouts so you have some fuel, and you want something after a workout to rebuild your tissues with.
I would have something VERY light before a workout. Something like a small glass of OJ and 1/2 a bagel. I would save the majority of breakfast for after the workout. Maybe you could have the other 1/2 of a bagel w/ some peanut butter and a glass of skim milk.
It's best to eat an hour or two before working out (to prevent any stomach issues), but if you're pressed for time just make sure you're not eating too much before your morning jog.

Thanks! Apples have carbs right? lol We just got 40lbs of apples from a friend of ours that used it for a halloween photo shoot and I really need to retrain my body to enjoy fruit since I never really ate it as a kid. I live on junk food and I hate it!

Eating some apple before a work out would be awesome! You can add 1 or 2 Tbs of peanut butter or a light cheese stick for some protein.
Then you can have your breakfast after you work out.
