Hi there. I am Beans. I joined this site to get my eating and exercise on track, so that I can be healthy and happy with my body again.
Some background info on me. I was always little. I was the girl who could eat anything (and believe me I did), not exercise and never gain weight. Almost 4 years ago, I got pregnant with my daughter. I weighed 115 lbs. (I am 5 ft. 1 in.). I gained about 35 lbs. Well, only about 15 lbs. came off, and I didn't work on getting the rest off. Fast forward to 1 year ago. I put on 30 more lbs. in a very short amount of time.
So, here's the thing. I have never eaten healthy. I was raised in a junk food house. I also have barely ever exercised. I took an aerobics class in college once, and I did go to a gym when I was still a healthy weight for a few months. Now, I get tired walking up the stairs. It's depressing and frustrating, and I just don't know where to start.
Any advice, recipes or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to checking out every aspect of this site. I turn 30 in August and really think it's time to get healthy.

Hi Beans. Welcome! This site is so great. I have only been here 2 weeks but I have learned so much. I also gained weight a couple years after having my daughter. This site is full of great info and the support you will receive is priceless. Also, there are some great challenges you can join. The challenges have a lot of info and support also. My favorite thing has been being able to enter all my food and exercise info and see where I am going wrong. Good luck!

LOVE the nutrition tracker, and I have to echo the recommendation about the challenges.
On a more specific level, drink lots of water, eat frequent small, healthy snacks and neither deprive yourself nor force yourself to eat healthy foods that you hate. If you stay patient and positive, you'll get back to where you want to be.
