My sister in law knew someone who literally went down to half her original size by just drinking hot water and lemon in the morning.

A couple of rules I have heard upon researching this:

Water should be hot.
HAS to be fresh lemon (what about lime?)
NO sugar as it disbalances the acidic properties
Must be drunk first thing in the morning half an hour before breakfast.

Has anyone tried this with success? If not, what were the problems?

I can start by saying that my sister in law said she tried it and though she did begin to lose weight she kept getting an acidic taste in her throat constantly, which made her stop.

I was introduced to a simular lemon cleanse called, "The Master Cleanse" which is fresh lemon, cayannan pepper and organic dark grade maple syrup. My friend lost over 40 pounds doing it for 14 days without any food. She drank lots of water with it though.

I did it for a week and dropped 8 pounds. I ate one full meal early evenings. I had no problems with acid.

Good luck!

Do you just drink this once in the morning or is this your 'food' for the entire day?

I made a large 32oz bottle in the morning and sipped it all day at work. When I came home I ate a small dinner.

It dies work but you have to be careful of how much you drink because lemons eat away the enamel off your teeth.

I have heard alot of great things about it as well. As far as losing alot of weight in a short amount of time. However I tried the "master cleanse" with the pepper and syrup and I could not stomach the taste. But if you can then it definately works!!

Hot lemon water is also part of the Fat Flush plan. It promotes liver detox as well as weight loss. Smile

Love the food that loves you back.

I love lemon water yum...there is also another great benefit for lemon (it helps with the immune system too!) so you're getting it better benefits when you drink lemon water.

I really don't suggest the master cleanse. Even Beyonce who did it, doesn't recommend it for weight loss during a regular non-celeb life. She believes there are other ways to lose weight. The Master Cleanser only works because of the placebo effect. You usually gain back the weight afterwards, who wouldnt, after starving yourself for 14 days? The pepper, the lemon and the syrup does not give you all the nutritional values that you need, that is truth. The Master Cleanser is not called The Master Weight loss forumla for a reason. it is simply a detox and the man who made it was arrested for murder because someone died on his diet because he told them that The Master Cleanser cures cancer. Need I say more? Not even the own creator knows what it does for sure.

lemon water in the morning is supposed to speed up your metabolism and flush some of the dead food that you ate last night that didn't go anywhere out of your system. that's why you do it half an hour before you eat breakfast, and then eat Smile it's a sneaky thing, like exersizing in the morning before you eat to kick start that metabolism.

I'm getting my info from "the Maker's Diet" which heartily reccomends it. I'll get a direct quote if you need it. (no lime, only lemon, lime is too acidic and could cause harm and sores in your mouth) I tried it for a week and lost a good sized ammount (granted I was golfing and swimming so, take from it what you will)

if you do it, let me know how it turns out!

This does not sound healthy! Any weight that you lose... you'll definitely gain back... so why do it? It might flush your system out.. but its not a way to LOSE weight. I'd suggest just exercise and the right foods will give you the body you want... LONG-TERM.

I've tried the Master Cleanse... oh man did I feel sick!

But lemon water everyday doesn't sound too bad. I often add fresh lemon slices to my green tea and I feel great after drinking it. If you have a cold, make tea with fresh lemon and ginger in it, bye bye cold!! Very Happy

Water with a little bit of apple cider vinegar is supposed to be good for weight loss too. Also it is supposed to help indigestion if you do it regularly.

I like cranberry water too. Don't know about if it has an effect on weight, but it is supposed to be good for the kidneys and bladder. And it's tasty and tangy.

GREEN TEA - I agree is a completely wonderful thing.
Please do not master cleanse, u need only look at what it actually entails to see how dangerous it is.
Yes you may lose a few pounds quickly - but at what cost? - and it will soon pile back on.

I once drank green tea three times a day ( with a saccharin sweetner as it is quite bitter) - I changed NOTHING ELSE - and I lost 5lb in one week.

I was eating normal food , in normal portions.
( quite a bit of fruit and veg, rice, pasta and probably a chinese takeaway at some point)

So combine a good diet, with a bit of exercise, and plenty of Green tea - and I reckon You are onto a winner!

Good luck evryone - Lou UK xx
