Has anyone done this yet? I made one of the smoothie recipes and had half left over. I put it in the fridge for a day. The next day I was going to drink it, but it looked so gross and unappetizing.Confused Should I put it in the freezer instead? The next smoothie I made, I tried to cut in half so it only made one serving. That came out okay. I've also found some of the recipes make only one serving, but they are the ones with light ice cream as an ingredient, so they have a few more calories than the other ones. This is all based on the recipes in the Abs Diet for Women book.

I don't think that uless you want a smoothie popsicle (not a bad idea) that it will be any better if you stick it in the freezer. I never had any luck saving smoothies for later. My husband tried it a few times (he is a slow learner, lol, not really but with cooking and food he is) and it never was good even a couple hours later. It just separates and looks unappetizing, especially if you put bananas in it because they oxidize and get all brown.

Just do what you've been doing, making just enough for 1 serving. That is your best option.

Love the food that loves you back.

My husband tried to save one for later, but I haven't been brave enough to do it yet! I agree that making a half-recipe is probably the best option.

Hi:

What I have found works best for me is to make a smoothie early in the day - say for breakfast or for a snack. I refrigerate the remaining 8oz in a glass with a cover and drink later the same day for a second snack or for the final meal of the day. No leftovers to worry about!

I've saved half for later, I just make sure to put it in a sealed container, that way it won't get brown and ugly. Also, if you put a little lemon juice in the smoothie, it won't turn brown. It doesn't add any calories either!

I also saved some for later just yesterday. No bananas though; I used raspberries, so I didn't get any nasty brown coloration.

I have not tried it, but maybe you could freeze it and then blend it again when you are ready to drink it. Otherwise you could stuck with halfing your receipe. During the summer, frozen could be pretty refreshing!

I have re-frozen them, it works great! Stays good for a while, as long as you don't have something stinky in your freezer like fish..Mad Salmon-flavored smoothie..not so good! LOL! Laughing

I hate when it gets all brown and gross looking! I have never tried freezing it, but all the other suggestions sound like they would work!

The best way to save for later is to put it in a thermos and into the frige. It really holds.

Hey there,
My solution is the Magic Bullet. I have one and I absolutely love it. Its nice because it is like a single serving smoothie. I love it I use it at least twice a day, and the cups are super durable. If you are busy and always on the go its great because you can just blend and go. Might be worth it.

8 pounds in a month is pretty great. That is 2 pounds per week. That is the far-end of the range of what you can leave and keep it off.
