I'm tired of JELLO...Is there anything sweet to munch on? What about Cool-Whip? It's low carb, right?

Sugar free fudge-cicles and popcicles. I lived on them in Phase 1

One I thing I really love to do is get some sugar free whipped cream like Cool Whip and freeze it for a yummy almost like ice cream but without the guilt treat!
Note: This is safe for all South Beach phases but fat flushers might have to wait after the detox first.

There are tons of acceptable S/F candies out now. Try S/F lifesavers or the weight watchers S/F chocolates they've been advertising lately. Both are really good and taste like the real thing! (no icky aftertaste, I promise!)

Hi;
I got a recipe from the SBD forum website and it is:
approx. 1/2c cottage cheese
approx. 1/2c skim milk
1 - 2 tsp of unsweetened powdered baking cocoa
Splenda to taste
approx. 1.5c of ice cubes
Mix in blender and add ice to desired consistency. Can be smooth like a milkshake or thicker like a Wendy's Frosty.
It's ok for Phase 1.
I have been living on these while my (non-dieting)family eats snacks at night.
Good luck!

My huaband and I have discovered sugar-free, fat-free instant pudding. We make it with 1% milk and top it with a little Cool Whip lite. I seem to be able to taste the artificial sweetener in everything, but I cannot tell the difference between this dessert and the stuff made with sugar & fat.

hi all, I just joined this site, actually found it by accident looking for low carb recipes. I'm on a combo Atkins/ South Beach diet. I ate sf jello 8 X a day last week! Glad to know there are others out there w/ the same cravings, etc. Right now I'm eating cool whip SF every time I walk thru the kitchen. (I'm trying to stay out of the house!) I don't eat past 7PM, at least I can manage that much for myself!
tomorrow I'm going to try the cottage cheese milk shake recipe, it actually sounds pretty good (I like CC.) My husband is trying hard to keep this diet w/ me, so I want to keep him interested with a varity of recipes. sgrplm

I do really like the sugar-free, fat-free pudding, but is it okay to have it on phase one, or do I have to wait until phase 2 for that?

Hi all! Pudding doesn't seem to pop up in the book until phase 2 BUT I love the No sugar added fudgsicles. Sometimes I'll dip it into the Laura Scudders natural peanut butter for an instant Reeses cup! So yummy and the peanut butter lends it to be a rich sugar tooth buster! I don't even use a tbs. of PB. A little goes a long ways for me. There are so many sugar free hard candies out there too. I like the Baskin N Robbins mint chocolate chip. And sweet n low makes one that's watermelon. Tastes like Jolly Ranchers...if you don't mind sweet n low. It gives some people headaches.

Hey my girl friend told me about these Dove Chocolates. They are sugar free and it is a great snake to eat after dinner. They are in the candy isle. It does not taste at all like diet anything. My brother was eating them when he came over and he hates anything diet. I love them

Try a chopped apple with cinnamon sprinkled on it. When you eat sweets, you set up cravings...part of why diets don't work and we yo yo. Eat natural, use spices to perk up the flavour. Enjoy!

Decadent Desert for stage 1:
*FAGE Greek Yoghurt 2% (one cup)
*Sugar free chocolate from Trader’s Joe (2 squares), grated
*Zest from 1/8 to ¼ of orange
*2 drops of organic chocolate or almond extract
Mix all ingredients gently and enjoy, make sure you made enough for other family members. Very satifying, you might devide it into 2 deserts

Hello all! I am REALLY new here, but I have been on SBD before...I really don't think that eating fruits is part of Phase 1 of this diet...however, I have found a recipe for dessert made with Ricotta cheese and natural(sugarless peanut butter) and Splenda to taste that satisifies my sweet tooth. After I mix all the ingredients I put it in the freezer and it really tastes like ice cream...if you'd like you can mix also a spoon of FF, whipped cream...it has a very creamy consistency....delicious!!...

I like to make a mock peanut butter pie. all you do is mix an 8 oz. package of cream cheese(softened) with a small tub of cool whip and a cup of peanut butter. mix it all up and spread into a pie plate. refrigerate and enjoy. sometimes I freeze it and eat it like PB Ice Cream. You may also want to add a packet of splenda to taste. when I really need something sweet I just eat a spoonful and that usually satisfies my sweet tooth.
If I keep working at this, and want it badly enough, I CAN HAVE IT!!

I like low fat yogurt and red grapes - super sweet just like dessert. If I get a sweet craving a chew a piece of gum. Strawberry-Kiwi or watermelon ect.

I would stay away from the sugar-free candies. Russell Stovers and Weight Watchers both make good substitute candies but they aren't calorie free and do nothing for trying to change the habits that got you fat in the first place. Its like smoking a light cigarette when you are trying to quit smoking.
My office cafeteria had little dipper packets of peanut butter, i nursed those while breaking myself of the habit to snack. Now when I am having a craving, I get a drink (tea or crystal light), and get busy doing something to take my mind off food.
