Ever have those days where you remember why you started the diet but it just doesn't kick you into gear like you want it to? Try going to your local discount clothing store (Ross Dress for Less, Good Will, Salvation Army, anything will do) and take a good hard look at the clothes for people in size 16W and up. Take your sense of humor with you, and find things that just make you shake your head and ask, "WHY!?!?" They seem to fall into several catagories: (Thoughts going through designer's minds as they develop their plus size line.)
-Fat People have no shape, therfore all clothing must resemble a mumu.
-Fat People are blind, they won't mind if I use the most ugly fabric ever to have the misfortune of being woven.
-Fat People don't care how they look, so let's make them look worse.
And my personal favorite:
-All Fat People are old and want to look like they bought their clothes 20 years ago.
Now I know that this doesn't describe every single item of plus size clothing out there, but it does open your eyes to how the world sees overweight people. There are some perfectly good plus size clothing stores out there. Lane Bryant, Avenue plus, and Torrid, just to name a few.
Fast food sure is fast. . .at making you fat!

Wow - it's like you read my mind! LOL Even stores like Lane Bryant (where I normally shop since I not only need "big girl" clothes, but also Tall pants! Argh!) miss the mark, though. Whoever decided that fat people should wear spandex & other materials (like ribbed knits) that hug every roll & dimple should be tarred & feathered. I mean REALLY. But I'm not bitter. LOL

So frustrated!
8 pounds in a month is pretty great. That is 2 pounds per week. That is the far-end of the range of what you can leave and keep it off.
