Hi! I am a 38 year old trying to get down to where I was years ago. I have not had any problems with Atkin's dieting. I go online to find new things to make to keep on track. The only problem I have is the dessert issue. Trying to find sweet things that are low in carbs to eat after a meal to satisfy my sweet tooth. If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it!!!

Sugar free anything has few if any "countable" carbs, if I understand Atkins correctly. I'm on South Beach, and I know things like Sugar Free Jello or Pudding, and sugar free candies are ok. If you can have fruit, Whole Fruit makes no sugar added Sorbet in Strawberry and Raspberry. Sugar Free lifesaves and jolly ranchers taste just like the regular kind and are a good candy fix too. I also like the Sugar Free Russel Stover candies. They make several kinds of chocolates that are very yummy. Hope this helps!

Hi - I love this for a good chocolate whammy when I need something sweet.
70ml marscapone, 2 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder and few drops liquid sweetener. total carbs 2.87.
Just mix all together until creamy - and enjoy !!!!!!!!

Here are a few dessert recipes that I have tried and I love them!
I found a recipe for cinnamon sugar pork rinds that I will be trying tonight. I hear it tastes similar to Taco Bell's cinnamon twists!!!
Plain pork rinds
melted butter
splenda
cinnamon
Pour melted butter over PLAIN pork rinds. Place some splenda and cinnamon in a plastic bag and throw the buttery pork rinds in the bag. Shake and enjoy!
Low Carb Cheesecake Muffins
2-8oz cream cheese (softened)
1/2 cup Splenda (or 1/4 cup Davinci of Torani vanilla SF syrup)
2 eggs
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 tsp vanilla (if you use the vanilla syrup, no need for this)
Nuke cheese for 30 seconds. Mix all ingredients with electric mixer (add eggs one at a time) until smooth. Pour batter into 12 muffin cups. Bake on 350 for 20 minutes. Place in fridge overnight.
Here is another websight for some other recipes along with deserts:
Her induction friendly pancakes are amazing.

I'm addicted to See's root beer lolly pops. Not sure how they fit with atkins, but only 60 calories and they last a long time and sooooo yummy too. Cinnamon are even better but they only sell those around the holidays.

Check out Maria Emmerich. She has a blog, facebook, pinterest, etc. She has a couple of cookbooks, one of which is desserts. The recipes are not only delicious, she explains why certain ingredients are bad and offers up alternatives with which to make healthified, yummy treats even your kids will love, including chocolate chip cookies!

I am doing the Ideal Protein diet and I make muffins out of the protein pudding mix. Then I buy the Walden Farms syrup (no calories, no carbs, no sugar) and pour on muffins. I am going to try the muffins with other protein mixes because Ideal protein is expensive. Here is the muffin recipe...1 pkg muffin mix, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1 egg, dash of lemon juice, and enough water to make it consistency of muffin mix. Put in small bakeware of some sort. 1 pkg makes 2 muffins. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes. On Ideal Protein, we do not get to have dairy products, so no butter. This is what has helped me through the diet. I am a sugar addict!

Thank you for a yummy alternative! But I HATE artificial sweetener. I think it's poisonous, and bad for you.. it's better just to forgo the sugar or use a little tiny amount.

Even though fat doesn't count in Atkins, it can cause you to gain or not lose weight if you consume too much. Be careful of over eating this nutrient. ie: cream, cream cheese.
