I'm feeling really stupid right now. I had the app for my Blackberry and had no trouble setting it up to sync with the site. However, I've downloaded the app for my new Android phone, and I can't for the life of me figure out where to add my username and password.
I've tried going to settings, nothing.
I've tried just hitting sync, I get a message that sync settings couldn't be retrieved.
Please help!

I also get the error message on my G2: "Unable to retrieve your
Sync settings at this stage. Please try again shortly."
I e-mailed them about it and got:
"Many thanks for contacting us and sorry for the inconvenience.
We're not sure why sync isn't working for you and you can't enter your
member information as we're not aware of an issue but will certainly look
into this further.
We appreciate your patience and wish you well.
The FatSecret team"
Does anybody have a solution?

I got mine to work. I had to get onto a wifi network to get past the first error message. Then when I put in my information, it said my username or password was wrong. I then hit the home button and turned off the wifi and got back on T-Mobile's network, then held the home button to get back to Calorie Counter. I sent my information again and it didn't give me an error message nor confirm it, but when I hit back and went to the app, it was working.

I used to use the Android app about 6 months ago then removed it and wanted to start again so I just installed the new version. I was having the same issue listed but it had all my old data stored still. RatFink's solution fixed the issue for me allowing me to log in with my account afterwards.

That is until I went back to being on T-Mobile again and it's causing the same error... Works fine on Wi-Fi though.

Mine finally hooked up as well. I also seem to get an error whenever I add something to my food diary, but it does go ahead and add to my diary on the site.
I'm guessing that mine finally went through when I had it set to WiFi as well. So, seems like it's a T-Mobile problem. Crazy!

Mine hangs up on Android sometimes. If I reboot my phone, it straightens out.

Yep, same problem about not being able to retreive on the Android. Does anyone from FatSecret read these problems? It would be nice to know taht they are on the case.

Oh, the other thing is that as well as not retreiving the diary, it will not accept new inputs on the Android. It is therefore useless except via the PC. A failed widget I'm afraid, not helped by the disengagement about whoever runs this thing.

It's still the same problem on my Samsung Galaxy S 3, it doesn't matter if I'm on WiFi or if I'm on the 3G network.
I still get the message about incorrect login/password and not only that, it deleted all my data on the phone although I selected to keep it.

I just get a blacked out page and my android slows to a complete stop. Its so irritating, as its such a brilliant app. Lets hope any update resolves these ongoing issues.

Food selections
I do, but mostly for the barcode scan (which is awesome). I've not noticed any real difference between the two, and end up searching via google half the time.
