I do Bikram Yoga every thursday. I disagree with Fatsecrets listing that yoga is stretching or low intentisity. secondly, Bikram is yoga in a 100 degree room with 50% humidity. Therefor I cannot list my most strenous activity on my exercise list. That is pretty frustrating.

If anyone else does Bikram and has figured a way to calculate the calories burned please let me know. thaks so much.

This is copied from the Livestrong website...

Calories Burned
According to the calories burned calculator created by QuickFit Yoga, an individual weighing 150 lbs. can expect to burn about 1,000 calories during each session of Bikram yoga, which is roughly the equivalent of running 6 mph for 90 minutes. While this is a general number, individuals weighing 120 to 160 lbs. can expect to burn at least 350 to 700 calories per hour doing Bikram yoga.

Bikram is some major yoga...I survived about 15 minutes the last class I tried!! You are a rock star...and I would be equally frustrated!! Looks like Kara found a good resource though!! Keep up the Bikram!!

Yep I'd either enter it manually as an exercise or log it as something with a comparable calorie count. livestrong, and many other sites if you google them, will have different estimated burns for a longer list of activities than what they have on here.

Bikram is the best. When I go three times a week I feel amazing. I injured my knee in the one legged toe stand pose and am out of commission for 6 weeks doing a biking, swimming, walking, weights rehab plan but I can't wait to get back to bikram and running.

I guestimate that I burn about 1000 calories in my 90-120 minute hot yoga class. I love it!
