Have you been tracking your food intake? The volume of food you are eating is not necessarily indicative of the calories you are consuming. I would recommend tracking every single bite you eat for at least a week, and then looking at some of the patterns. Do you eat too much fat? Not enough fibre? Are you missing your fruit and vegetable targets?

If all of that is fine, I would start thinking about adding in more exercise. If you do weights and build your muscle mass a little you will raise your resting metabolism. Plus, cardio will burn off some calories and give you a bit more leeway in your eating.

Honestly, if you find your eating is right in line with what it should be for weight loss(there should be some good calculators online for caloric recommendations based on your weight gender and activity level), and you are working out a solid hour or so a day, and still not losing, I would see a doctor.

You may want to have your thyroid checked as a low thyroid can cause loss of appetite yet no weight loss.
If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

Keep in mind that FATs are extremely dense in calories and so are sugars (refined sugar but also honey/maple syrup).

Are you exercising? Maybe you are burning fat but gaining muscle mass.

Pretty much agree with other posts. I have been at this for a while and when I track the actual calories, I lose weight. When I quit tracking I start deceiving myself again and quit loosing. We are able to deceive ourselves (by not really knowing how many calories we consume in a day) but that damn scale is reality.

HCB has a good point- time to see the doc. If you are not losing and not eating much you might get your thyroid checked.

If you eat too few calories you're body goes into starvation mode and just stores everything so you won't lose weight and might even gain some.

I think you need to get your thyroid checked as well. Not eating is not healthy and certainly doesn’t help in weight loss. Meet a physician and try to find out the reason behind your loss of appetite. If all’s well, I think you could benefit from a weight management program; one that not only tells you about the kind of foods you need to include to your diet to get the necessary nutrition and lose weight, but to keep it off in the long run as well.

Starvation mode only occurs when you get down to 5% body fat (10% for females) . If you hit that amount of body fat you then start to lose muscle and are basically in the realms of anorexia. I am sure you are not there so would also suggest a check up with your Dr for a possible medical condition or ianal it you have worked out the perfect balance of calorie intake Wink

Hey there! I suggest you track or monitor what you eat. In order to lose weight, you need to burn more calories than you eat plus exercise. If in case you have been tracking your food intake and still nothing happens, I suggest you visit your doctor and have a check up.
