Wondering if anyone has tried the work out program Turbo Fire? I have seen the infomercials and am interested in it. It looks like it would be kick-butt and fun. I need something that I can do at home but before I go investing in $140 worth of DVD's, etc. just wanted to get some feed back. Of course on the website there is nothing but praise in the reviews. If you've tried it I'd appreciate your input. Thanks, Tasha.Wink

I have not done turbofire yet. My sister in law has it, and she didn't find it to be very good, however, I think her motivation and diet were a little lacking. I did Chalean though. It's about the same price, but it's more or less strength training than cardio. It is AWESOME! I'm actually in the middle of doing it for the second time this year. I lost a little under 20 lbs after the first round, and now I am training for a triathlon so I'm only doing the strength trainig videos from it now. It works really well, and the weights that I bought were like $40 for the set at Kmart. I'd look into it. I found it to be very easy to follow and it kept me motivated. Good luck!

I read a good article the other day that said you are better off doing what is natural for your body (without additional equipment). In other words go for a run or walk, jump in the pool and if you want to get some fresh air on a bike. The advantage is its cheap, you can work at your own level and you will notice an improvement if you push yourself. It doesn't matter if you measure distance, speed or time spent, it all adds up. It may not work for everyone but I also find the further I am from the easy to get food the less I eat, so if I am out for a walk with teh kids for an hour with a bottle of water then I only have the bottle of water.

I haven't done the TurboFire, but I've done TurboJam and I constantly go back to it. Out of the many workout dvd's I own, this is by far the most fun with the best workout.

I LOVE Turbo Fire. Just when you think you are about to pass out, Chalene says something that motivates you to keep going Smile I have Chalean Extreme (weight lifting) too and I do a hybrid workout! Just started the hybrid this week and already seeing changes in my body!

Thanks for all the feed back everyone! I have many things to think about now. I was hinting to my bf about the Turbofire set, so just maybe I might have a gift soon. He's pretty good like that. Smile

Love love love TurboFire! It actually makes me want to work out Smile You can find it for pretty cheap on EBay, I wouldn't pay full price for it when there are great ways to get it for less. Good luck and have fun!

Gr8, I'll check it out. I have several other BeachBody vid sets. They all help.

Folks, also consider your age when selecting exercise program. Like it or not, no matter how good you feel, you can't push your heart and joints as hard as you did when you were young. It becomes the law of diminishing returns. Most fitness pros recommend slow, steady exercise for 1 hr 5X week. I personally prefer 35 minutes 6X week, mixing up resistance exercise and aerobic dance or march. Can't wait till weather cools down so I can go for walks (my cardiologist's preference)

Hi,
May I suggest before spending any money & being taken in by the hype you have a look at Scooby's Workshop. All free & he gives the pros 'n' cons of any fitness & nutrition facts & myths that are out there.

I Love the Jillian Michaels DVD called "Fronts and Backs" (like $10 on Amazon.com) because it is circuit training with just a couple hand weights and an exercise stretch band. It says beginners but it is very challenging and you make it as hard as you fitness level permits! Also, she has "30 day Shred" and "Shed fat, Boost Metabolism" which are very challenging, too. You could spend about $30 and get more than you can handle!
If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

Anyone using the Fitbit Flex or similar devices?
I have a bodymedia fit and love it. It really helps keep you motivated and focused. It does allow you to sync with a heart rate monitor, but I find it has been a good tool regardless.
