I feel like the moon affects my body

I dont know if any of you have noticed this but I have always had one week in every month where it seems like no matter what I eat or drink it just clings onto me like a magnet.
So I started researching on good ol google! Turns out there is such a thing as a "moon diet" and it actually hits home. In north america our full moon happened on August 1st. I noticed that most people who were recording their weight this week were recording gains or extremely small losses.
According to this school of thought our bodies absorb during the "full moon" phase... meaning a couple of days before and a couple of days after but primarily during the 24 hour period of the full moon. Then at the opposite end of the scale our bodies supposedly release and cleanse during the "new moon" phase.
I am curious as to whether or not anybody else has ever heard of this or thought anything about it. Apparently farmers for centuries have known about the moon controlling the water on earth. They harvest on a full moon (harvest moon) in order to pick the crops at their most plump and moist state. Also the ocean rises and falls according to the moon cycles. The moon definately affects water and we are what ? 70% water?
Anyways I welcome your comments and constructive criticisms
if you google "moon diet" you can find out all sorts of interesting information about this topic.

Sounds like there could be something to that. I know the moon affects me too, at least since I've been pregnant - it seems like everytime the moon comes out all I want to do is sit in front of the T.V. and nibble on things. lol

Interesting, although I would think the converse would be true for me. Wouldn't howling at the full moon count as extra exercise?

Interesting find! I know a full moon affects everyone but some people are more sensitive to the earth's energies and can be affected more than others. I'm going to look into this! I'm all into metaphysics stuff right now.

Here is a link to the actual moon diet website

I'm going to give it a loose try this month and see what its like. I may not do the actual 24 hour fast altho my curiousity is peaked enough to actually consider it. Hehe it would be interesting to create a challenge on this and get people all doing it for one moon cycle or even three in a row. Just to see how the results look on a group level.

I'm guessing that you're female. Is it possible that what you're seeing is actually the effects of your menstrual cycle?

well thats what I thought for years. But in the past few months my cycle has been off by about a week and a half and it seems that the same symptoms remained in place according to the moon and not my cycle.

HA! My husband has worked in retail for 12 years, and he made an observation to me just the other day it seemed like all the "weirdos" and difficult people were in his store when there was supposed to be a full moon.
I personally believe that the celestial patterns have more of an effect on us than we realize. I believe there is SOME truth to the presonlity profiles of a person based on their date/month of birth, but not in the fortune telling part. That's a lot of hokey.
