'diet' is not a word anyone from my country would like to hear.
'dieting' in Mauritius has always been related to sickness.
If you tell someone: 'I am following a diet...'
You would not have time to finish explaining, but you will see your interlocutor pulling a sympathetic facial expression.
''I hope you get better after this diet''
When and before I started dieting, I was not sick, I had blood tests, fitness checking, I was and am perfectly healthy 30 something lady.
I just wanted to look good in that pair of skinny jeans, it was a silly drive, but what was awaiting me was what one would fear to be a dramatic pull towards inhibitions, dont's and more dont's.
I wanted to give up, where's all the fun?
I hate dont's, being a christian I was taught to love correction, wise guidance, only foolsih people will reject such things...
So I embarked that boat, all by myself, with my lovely friend and personal trainer.
She was not with me by my side 100%, she just gave me a few tips, on how and what to do.
I was approaching 91kg at that time, being only 5'6'' and in my early 30s....I could see myself heading towards depression.
She said, you will start counting how much you eat by writing it down, and you will exercise daily, and email it to me weekly...''no cheating''
I didn't....
9 months of fun, tears, attachment to God, new social life, food and food...I weighed 71Kg
I want to share this with you;
Because I gained a lot of confidence and knowledge of myself through weight loss...Though in the past few months I had a drastic change in my life, I gained 3 kgs through laziness...yes just laziness and unwillingness
What you love to eat should never be scratched out, but improved...
Let's say you love Fried chicken, hmmm who doesnt?
I will put some of recipes and Ideas sooner or later in here.
But Fried chicken, the white of a chicken, rubbed with spice and a aromtic herbs, rosemary etc...dunk in white egg, covered with bread crumbs...slide it in your 'cuisinart' toaster or anything alike, with a dash of oil or just non fat cooking spray...wow, it's fried chicken at it's best...
not dripping with oil, or uncomfortable chewy
That's just one example.
I am not going to make one eat love and pray session with you.
I am attached to God, his Word has put me straight on my feet, so I can stick to my decision and not waver...
I constantly surrounded myself with positive people, a good church, and food oh yeah!!!
Then came the love of cooking because I wanted to improve what others have made, made a better chocolate cake, know how and when to eat it, and if you happened to have eaten too much, you know it wld be time to have just an apple for dinner, or have a copious dinner.....
....and intense exercising...oh yeah
I used to love boxing, still do, and I started boxing, once, yes once only in a week for months, and Long walks at night, while listening to music and funny stories, or podcast sermons from my pastor....
Ask me any question, some recipe with pictures are coming soon
