I am 16 and I need to lose weight but my parents will not support this, they keep serving unhealthy food. How can I lose weight without buying different food for myself.

What sorts of things are they serving?
What about offering to shop for some of the meals and cook them for everyone?

You could eat small amounts of the unhealthy foods and load up on the veggies. Ask that some of the veggies be steamed raw, without fattening butter or sauces on them. Also, it sounds like your parents could take some good advice from you as you encourage them to eat healthier foods.

Get active!! It's definitely tough to lose weight if you're eating too many calories/unhealthy foods, but getting more active and working out will definitely help!! Do as much as you can to avoid the unhealthiest parts of the foods that you are being served - like holfraz said, try to load up on veggies (and protein!) - take off as much breading/skin/fat/sauces as you can...
Someone who is busier than you is working out right now.
There will come a day when you can no longer do this. Today is
not
that day.

I agree with Hoser. You can shop with your mum/dad and pick the foods that you like to eat. Also, cook for everyone every now and then to let them know that you only not want a healthy lifestyle for yourself but as well as for the entire family.

The key to losing weight not only has to do with eating healthy but also the portion size. Even when it is not the greatest food choice if you have "one portion" and add the veggies to help fill you up I think you will have some success. Also as others mentioned, exercise will also get you going! How much are you hoping to lose? Also, when you say they will not support you, do you mean they give you grief about wanting to lose or do they just not buy the food?

Exercising and trying to get your parents to allow you to prepare some meals are both great suggestions, but I have to agree that portion control is the easiest thing you can modify without being in a constant battle with your parents.
Since you're on this site tracking your food, make sure you continue to eat at an appropriate level. If you cut your calories too drastically, it will sabotage your weight loss, but like other people have said, eating bad stuff in smaller amounts is better than making no change at all. Like someone else also said, load up on vegetables instead of meat and/or potatoes. A half a tablespoon of butter -- or even better, olive oil -- with a can of vegetables and a little salt and pepper make the veggies a little more tasty without adding too many calories.
One mistake many people make when they go on a diet is to drastically change everything they're eating all at once. That kind of change is rarely sustainable. It'll take more patience, but less effort, if you make smaller changes and work within the confines of what your parents are bringing into the house. If they won't buy fresh vegetables, eat canned. If they insist on fatty meats, eat smaller portions of those. Who knows, maybe your parents will be encouraged by your good example.

Portion control can be a big help - regardless of what you're eating. And my hubby doesn't eat a lot of veggies - so I buy them frozen - about a dollar a bag. Then I just make a bowl for myself with every meal.

I had this same issue growing up and I would ask my mom to let me set aside my vegetables "before" she added butter. Like everyone else has said, portion control is key, and move more. Find something you enjoy doing, even if it's just dancing in your room. I have a theme song that I dance to every single morning to get me going and my kids think it's hilarious! It has become a family ritual that everyone expects to see in the morning.

if you want to be subtle and don wanna hurt them by out right telling about 'unhealthy foods' u can try these tips.. gulp a glass of water before u start eating.. and 2 after you are done.. also you can just pop in a medium fruit like tomato or a cucumber half an hour before meal time.. try helping in cooking.. when u spend sufficient time in kitchen u obviously get a say in what is to be cooked.. take interest in cooking.. and try convincing them about importance of healthy food.. whats bad for you is much worse for your 20 25 year older parents..
