I have such bad arthritis in my feet that most exercise is near impossible and I don't swim..any suggestions? I also have fibromyalgia, which also makes a lot of exercising painful...I am very frustrated!

Are you able to walk? Get some comfortable shoes and walk half an hour every day. Maybe start with 10 or 15 minutes and build up slowly. Cycling or stationary bike won't put any strain on your feet. Rowing is also good non weightbearing exercise. Or for something gentle try stretching, yoga or Pilates. There are plenty of exercises you can do, you'll find lots of info on the internet.
Lots of studies have shown that exercise can reduce the pain in fibromyalgia, it's definitely worth it.

Good luck!

I have arthritis in my knees and get charlie horses in my feet so I completely understand. Just take it little by little until you have built it up to a level you can stand. You will be surprised at how quickly it will start to feel better just from exercising. Make sure to ask the doctor about taking an Ibuprofen or two before starting to help with swelling or aching afterwards.
I walk in the house to a walking video. I also do simple yoga with my husband's xbox Kinect.

I have plantar fasciitis and some of the other issues mentioned above. For me what worked were some yoga stretches, that helped me more than physical therapy. Jill Miller has some FREE 5 minute download or youtube thingie that I started with (although I could not DO it at first). I can't walk long distances due to the plantar fasciitis and a year ago going to the grocery store would set me off my feet for days...and I'm only 42! The stretches helped.
As far as cardio I tend to ride an exercise bike, although I have walked a lot in the last month and not paid for it for days on end! I also attribute that to good insoles (Spenco) and stretching my feet with the above-mentioned stuff, yoga toes (you can get something similar at the drug store like toe spreaders, massaging my feet, and ice sometimes helped. Also STRETCH THOSE CALVES AND ACHILLES TENDONS. You'd be surprised how it all hooks into each other.
Keep in mind my starting weight as of March 2012 was 198! I just didn't want to record it, so depressing......now empowering to know I can lose!

Do warm-ups and cool-downs count?
Honestly, I think it depends on what workout you're going with. I do cardio from a dvd with Denise Austin, and yes, I count the warm up and cool down... just because they feel like (together) they ...

Have you found the exercise Brazil butt lift? I would like to gain tone but not build heavy, thick looking legs. Is this possible? Also need suggestions for upper body with the same philosophy.
