When counting your water does it strictly have to be plain water? i use the drops sometimes and the sugar free packets.

I don't really know, but I only count plain water toward my 8 glasses as day. I use the drops or sf packets to treat myself after I've reached my 8 glasses of plain water.

The way I see it, plain water flushes your system out without straining on your liver, kidneys and other inner organs that might work some magic on anything we consume.
This is why water is better than anything else. Nature built us to drink water, not to flavor it with chemicals.
Drinking pure water is simply a matter of habit. Give it a few weeks and you'll be used to it.
I'm not saying that you can't drink anything else, just don't count anything but waster as water intake.
Hope it brings you closer to an answer.

It doesn't really matter. Plain water, flavored water, the water in your food... it's all just water.

It's not clear to me why you'd want to add nasty chemicals to water, though.

Hoser they are used to flavor the water. I would only count the the plain water. Maybe if you are having a hard time getting in your plain water.. do 4 plain waters then half a flavored water.. and repeat. I drink at least 100 oz of h20 a day.. and then once or twice a week I will drink sparkling water with the drops.. that is all kinds of awesome.

No it doesn't have to be plain water. I use Crystle lite. Works fine. Some add lemon to their water. I am a lifetime member of WW. We have talked about this fact.

There are differing opinions even amongst the professionals.

So far as I've read, water is water (and I used to keep up with the studies just so I could quote them chapter and verse to the holier than though types at our office who were obsessed with "detoxing" with nettle tea in 2000ish).

However you drink it it will still hydrate you more than almost anything you add to it will dehydrate you. This includes coffee and tea etc etc.

Like many things to do with metabolism I think it's as much to do with knowing your body and seeing what works for you.
