Also, saw an item in the health section of the Sunday paper. The new recommendation is that all adults with a BMI of 30 or greater receive intensive counseling in order to drop the weight. This may mean that the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act will compel insurance companies to pay for counseling programs such as Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, and Medifast. Right now, those programs are usually paid out-of-pocket by the patient.

The article is by Melissa Healy and originally ran in the Los Angeles Times. The headline in the Fredericksburg, Virginia Free Lance-Star was "Panel Recommends Intensive Counseling for Obese Adults."
